1 Hanot Happenings a special place from the beginning On their way to Reno! Kung Fu Panda Night at Hanot. Hanot Residents Activities 2016: The residents have enjoyed many activities so far this year such as making ceramics at The Mud Mill and attended plays held in the local area. They also enjoyed a trip to the Jelly Belly Factory. They also attended Camp Tuolumne Trails; it is located 30 minutes from Yosemite, need I say more? The residents have visited Old Sacramento and went to the Train and Automobile Museum. We still have ladies night and the gentleman get their night out, too. This can be anything from dinner out or a trip to the local movie theatre; it is their choice. They attended many Stockton Ports games and the Stockton Thunder hockey games. We also have Good Shepherd Church program on Saturdays. They will be providing a summer day camp program for a couple of weekends. The VSP Bowling League has been an activity that our residents continue to enjoy throughout the year. We have been fortunate that the community programs they attend have been active over 30 years. Thanks for all your outstanding effort. We have become more creative with in-house activities. Music with Melody is our musical therapist s company that provides music therapy and motivates residents to be creative and have fun. Melody Tolmie rounds out her program with CD s for Hanot to use at other times. The game room now has a new hockey machine and basketball throw. We also

2 are providing bingo, arts and crafts, WII sports games, Karaoke, jigsaw puzzles, beading, and more. This has been made possible with our donations to our residents Recreation Fund. We will continue to keep our supporters in the loop.. Musical Therapy Group Hanot Fundraisers: The Foundation Harvest Holiday is scheduled for November 12, It will be held at St. Joachim s Catholic Church located at Lockeford Ranch Drive in Lockeford. The cost for this event is $40.00 per person. There will be live music and a silent and live auction. Our annual Crab Feed will be scheduled for January 14, 2017 and will be at St. Joachim s. The tickets are $45.00 per person. We will be having an electronic raffle that will include the latest technology. Tickets will be on sale as early as November 1, Hanot s 27 th Annual Golf Tournament will be held at Oakmoore Golf Course in Stockton on May 3, Trophies will be given in different categories; there will be lunch on the course, a raffle, and a wonderful steak dinner. The fundraisers listed above are a very important part of our financial stability. Thank you for continuing to support Hanot Foundation, Inc. Builders Club: Our Builders Club was established many years ago to recognize those who are our major supporters and give them an opportunity to continue that support on an ongoing basis. Membership in this club is open to all those interested in supporting our programs. We always welcome new members who are interested in the continued growth of the foundation. 3 level of support should contact our office at or Laura Reeves at July 2016 Endowment Fund: The primary goal of our Endowment Fund is to enable our programs to become less and less dependent upon state funding. As we closed 2016 the Hanot Endowment Fund Board of Directors struggled with the investment climate. The fund has, like all investments, taken a strong hit from the downturn in the economy. We are so grateful for both our donors and our Endowment Board. The Board is more conscious than ever of how important continued support is needed. Individual donations, planned giving and estate planning are all so important to this fund that has become a greater part of the future of Hanot. Hanot Board Update: We would like to introduce our Board officers for 2016 are: President: Nell Lip, Vice President: Phil Fondale, Secretary: Margaret Meyers, and Treasurer: Scott Hudson. Residents Recreational Fund: The small income that the residents get for activities is slowly disappearing.the residents of Hanot look forward to doing fun and creative activities. We have continued to ensure no resident is left behind when it comes to activities. This fund has continued to grow

4 due partly to long-time supporters and is vital to the mental and physical well-being of our residents. We are asking our Hanot community to help out if you can. This account will be to insure that Hanot residents can continue to go on outings whether they can afford it or not. We feel that resident s recreational programs are vital to their mental stability and growth. Membership in Hanot helps us serve: Membership in Hanot is a very clear way to become part of what makes Hanot so special.
