3 Strategic Review of Anti Stigma Approach in Scotland Relationships: revisit and expand Governance delivery stakeholders From awareness to behaviour change From grants to community development Restructure: lived experience : core team : mixed funding economy ( 1.5m) Brand evaluation: from campaign to programme Programme Aims & Objectives Aim People who experience mental health problems are more able to participate in Scottish society and live full lives without fear or experience of stigma and discrimination. Objectives Reduce self-stigma Outcome 1: People who experience mental health problems will not limit their own lives and help seeking behaviour as a result of self-stigma. Reduce social exclusion and inequalities Outcome 2: Stigma and discrimination will be reduced among communities and organisations with the potential to have a positive impact on the lives of people with mental health problems. Promote messages of recovery Outcome 3: There is greater understanding across society, and specifically those who experience or are at higher risk of developing mental health problems, that people can and do recover from mental health problems.

4 Development & Delivery The refounded programme outcomes, outputs and activities have taken account of the importance: Adopting multi-level approaches Targeting activity to maximise impact Adopting a mixed methodology -contact operating alongside mental health literacy Understanding stigma and discrimination as a human rights issue that prevents help-seeking and reduces life chances Refounded See Me

5 Development & Delivery Key Principles of the Programme : Co-production & empowerment. Partnership working and strategic co-operation. Shift of emphasis to behavioural change within communities. Application of innovation to help generate new evidence and good practice investment in local learning events; national innovation; learning labs. An evaluation model which measures change through outcomes and enables continuous programme development and learning. Recognition of the potential of the arts Scottish Mental Health Arts & Film Festival (SMHAFF) The Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival is one of the best ideas to hit the Scottish cultural scene in years. 6 Research and Evaluation Framework Designed by March 2014 framework will produce evidence of impact in relation to: Process empowerment and engagement Outcomes across three levels Community - test projects will adopt the Model for Improvement Approach Organisational -targeted around bursts including routinely available data Population -Well what do you think? and beyond Innovation & Learning Change Networks -findings from the test sites shared locally & nationally at annual Innovation and learning Lab events. Lived Experience Networks building capacity for lived experience led research, evaluation and dissemination Organisations-supported to develop & engage with learning opportunities. The Advisory Group -develop a learning & dissemination strategy including, aligning with a range of national initiatives.
