1 First Announcement and Call for Papers Dear Colleagues, The Department of of Soroka University Medical Center, takes great pleasure to invite you to attend the 33rd Annual Meeting of the Israel Society of Dermatology and Venereology. The meeting will take place at the Meridien Hotel, Dead Sea, June 16-17, As in previous meetings, the scientific program will include lectures delivered by national and international speakers, original studies, case studies and posters. As customary, the best resident paper and best poster presentation will be awarded. The invited international speakers participating are: Prof. Neil Shear (Canada) Prof. James G Krueger (USA) Prof. Michael Hertl (Germany) Prof. Olivier Chosidow (France) The main topics of the conference are: Drug-induced skin diseases and drug interactions Psoriasis Bullous diseases (pemphigus and pemphigoids) Infectious and parasitic diseases During the Conference there will be an exhibition of pharmaceutical companies and medical supplies as well as companies of medical cosmetics. Following the annual Conference, a German-Israeli meeting will take place on June 18, 2010, with representation from both countries. 4 General Information The Conference Site and Venue The Conference will take place at the Meridian Hotel, Dead Sea, Israel, June 16-17, Language The Conference will be conducted in Hebrew. Climate & Clothing June is summer in Israel, with temperatures ranging from C. Dress will be informal throughout the Conference. Currency The currency in Israel is the New Israeli Shekel (NIS), commonly known as the Shekel. One Shekel consists of 100 Agorot, US$1 = NIS 3.8 = (As of December 2009). Electricity Electricity in Israel is supplied at 220V, 50Hz and has a three-pin connecting plug. Value Added Tax Reimbursement According to the Value Added Tax (VAT) Law, a foreign tourist is able to benefit from a zero rate of VAT on a vast array of services obtained during a stay in Israel. In addition, a special arrangement exists whereby a tourist may also request a VAT refund on purchases made during a stay.
