2 2 Welcome Dear Colleagues, We have invited faculty of Genito-Urinary Reconstructive Surgeons (GURS) to visit Pune, India for its 2013 Outreach Mission. First objective is humanitarian work by treating needy patients free. Second is to enlighten urologists with the current techniques of genitourinary reconstructive surgery. The last ten years have witnessed significant changes in the way we manage urethral stricture disease. Surgical techniques have been greatly modified and improved to reduce complications and improve outcome. This course will focus on providing a new, advanced and up to date view of the innovative surgical techniques suggested for the treatment of urethral stricture disease. Objectives: After attending this course, participants should be able to: Interpret the new nomenclature of the anatomy of the anterior and posterior urethra according to the patho-physiological view and ICUD guidelines. Investigate the patient preoperatively. Select the best technique depending on the stricture etiology, site and length. Perform the appropriate step-by-step approach to penile, bulbar, posterior and panurethral strictures, using latest techniques.
