1 December 2018 Research Shows Healthy Living is Longer Living Research shows that living a healthy lifestyle can add a Researchers from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health conducted a study of the impact of health habits on life expectancy with data from the Nurses Health Study (NHS) and the Health Professionals Follow-up Study (HPFS). On average, Americans are eating fruit once per day and vegetables 1.7 times per day, according to the CDC. Experts agree that most vegetables are most nutritious when consumed whole.
