4 Enhanced Bioavailability and Reliable Potency What Is Bioavailability? Bioavailability refers to how much of a nutrient or formula that enters circulation is able to be used by the body. A substance with a low bioavailability needs to be converted to a different form before the body can use it, where a substance with high bioavailability becomes available as soon as it enters the bloodstream. HPMC Vegetable Capsules Many of our formulas are encapsulated in HPMC (hypromellose), generation II, vegetable capsules with quick-dissolve technology. The Timing of Nutrient Availability Because of their quickdissolve technology, our generation II vegetable capsules have disintegration times of under 5 minutes. Most vegetable capsules may take more than 20 minutes. Tablets may take more than 30 minutes to dissolve.
