1 Lynwood Coonabarabran 2357 NTS Soil and Plant Therapy Services Your Personalised Guide for Optimum Crop Nutrition Perform the right test at the right time and save money! 1. Are you looking for long-term soil correction or a boost to your current crop? A report will include a recommendation for a Prescription BlendTM based on your soil test results. This blend is based on long-term soil correction rather than as an annual input. That is, it is designed to improve soil structure, drainage, nutrient recycling and beneficial microbe populations over time and will not suffice on its own to get this years crop through to harvest. NTS s Plant TherapyTM service will enable you to monitor and fine tune your ongoing liquid program throughout the season for optimum results. 2. Do you have the ability to broadcast non-granular dry fertlisers and soil conditioners? Recommendations based on soil tests will include a dry mineral blend. If applying this type of blend is not possible you are advised to perform a Plant TherapyTM Leaf Test where liquids will be recommended. Soil correction it is advised that you perform a Soil TherapyTM test Boost-A Plant TherapyTM leaf test would be suitable. You may like to also consider a Soil TherapyTM test for long term benefits. NO-It is advised that you perform a Plant TherapyTM Leaf Test. Yes-A Soil TherapyTM report would be suitable. You may like to also consider a Plant TherapyTM leaf test depending on your crop stage. 3. Is your crop at a critical stage or appears to have a nutrient deficiency symptom? Performing a Leaf TherapyTM Leaf Test will be important at this stage to identify nutriment requirements and to design a Prescription Fertliser Programme to ensure optimum quality and production. Yes It is advised that you perform a Plant TherapyTM Leaf Test. No-Plant TherapyTM Leaf Tests are an ideal method to monitor crop nutrient levels and to address requirements prior to them becoming a crop limiting factor. 4. Are you a home gardener or a hobby farmer? Yes-Ask Glenn about the Life Force Vitality Programme.

2 Lynwood Coonabarabran 2357 Soil Sampling Guide Soil conditions vary from paddock to paddock and region to region. Each paddock should be considered on a case by case basis. Many factors govern the content and balanced availability of nutrients and elements in the soil. Only from a soil analysis can we measure the degree of efficiency at which our soils are producing crops and pastures, and only when all elements of soil content, air, water, nutrients and microbiological life, are taken into account can an effective soil program be developed. A printed report accompanies the analysis figures, which includes a chart graphically showing the condition of your soil and recommendations for a soil improvement program in order of priority. For a soil test to provide a reliable guide to the condition of your soil, the sample tested must truly reflect the soil in the area sampled. If the soil type varies within the area to be tested, sample the predominant soil type only. A minimum of 20 cores per sample is recommended, the more sites sampled the more representative the sample will be and more accurate results are achieved. Core depths of 100mm for pasture and crops, 150mm for orchards and vineyards. Avoid contaminated and deceptive areas such as in the vicinity of gateways, animal tracks, animal camps, fences, troughs, trees, fertliser and lime dumps, planted or seeder loading areas. The bottom of gullies and water holding depressions, areas where timber windrows have been burnt and extremely wet soils should not be sampled. Remove surface material such as pasture or weed growth and surface litter, to bare soil at sampling site. Cropped paddock soil sample cores should be taken from areas between the crop or stubble rows. Areas with major soil type variations, or that differ in appearance, crop growth or past treatment should be sample separately, provided the area can be treated separately. A soil or crop map can be helpful in distinguishing areas and in recording the location of samples. Subsurface soil sampling is beneficial when establishing deep rooted plants, such as vineyards and orchards or where salinity and acidity are suspected. Take at least 19 subsample cores from the 150mm to the 300mm levels of the soil profile. General Instructions: Several different tools-such as an auger, sampling tube or spade may be used in taking samples. It is important to use a clean plastic bucket to collect and mix sample, a metal bucket may contaminate the sample for trace element analysis. If a sampling tool is not available, use a clean non rusty spade to dig a small hole with a vertical side and take a uniform slice of soil about 20mm thick to the required depth. Wear a pair of new rubber gloves, break up clods, mix thoroughly and spread the total sample evenly on a clean surface. Divide into quarters, discard the two diagonal quarters and remix the remains, continue this reduction process to achieve the volume required for testing, approx 250 grams per test. Select area to be sampled and take cores at regular intervals as per the relative pattern diagram. Cores should be taken from sites of average growth. Do not sample bare ground unless it is predominant in the area or patches of very good growth, such as urine and dung clumps or within 10m of sheds, tracks and fence lines. Mark each sample bag with the relevant details corresponding to your site immediately to avoid confusion. Keep a record of sample sites.

4 Lynwood Coonabarabran 2357 PLANT THERAPYTM INSTRUCTIONS 1. Collect leaf samples according to standard crop procedures (call Glenn for details) and deposit them in a paper bag. 2. The sample bags should be labelled with your name, address, , fax and phone number. Crop/ species, date sampled and any particular problems or symptoms. 3. Express post the samples in an envelope and include credit card details or a cheque made out to Environmental Analysis Laboratory, include EAL Client Registration form if this is the first time you have sent in goods for testing or you have since changed your details. 4. It is essential to express post samples in an overnight bag or use airmail to ensure the samples arrive as soon as possible. 5. It is acceptable to send plant matter to a certified laboratory in Australia. Australia Post are not authorised to act as quarantine agents as we have already established a ruling on this matter. 6. EAL will results directly to Soil Therapy within 4-5 working days of receipt of your samples. 7. Soil Therapy agronomists will incorporate the test data into a comprehensive Plant Therapy analysis sheet which will clarify your results and make appropriate recommendations. 8. If you are sampling an unusual or not well researched crop please contact Soil Therapy agronomists first to confirm whether data for the analysis is available. 9. The Plant Therapy Report will be mailed, faxed or ed to you ASAP. VERY IMPORTANT! Ask at the post office if they have express post from your town if not just send ordinary mail. Express post samples to. Environmental Analysis Laboratory Ph Fax PO Box 157 Lismore, NSW, 2480 It is best to post leaf samples on Monday to ensure the results are back by the same Friday. Please note: Overnight express is not guaranteed to Lismore. is a natural extension of our service, where an in-depth fertility analysis of soil test data is used to formulate Personal Prescription Blends for individual blocks. We have found that the increases in production and quality attributed to this form of precision nutrition can be further enhanced with regular leaf analysis monitoring and appropriate corrective action. Plant TherapyTM Leaf Analysis at our heavily discounted rate of $60.50 per test (inc) offers the opportunity to achieve more response from limited funds through applying only what is needed, exactly when it is needed. This precision nutrition can be accomplished with a single foliar spray or fertigation. Environmental Analysis Laboratory also offers a service whereby the leaves are thoroughly washed according to a standard procedure, this will cost an extra $5.50 per sample, a leaf test would then cost $66 inc. This will ensure the test is measuring the nutrient within the leaf and not any residues from fertiliser applications. Plant Therapy recommendations are also available on leaf data from other laboratories for $13.20 per test inc.
