5 The World Food Program Food assistance branch of the UN is the world s largest humanitarian agency. It runs school feeding programs that reach 22 million children in over 70 countries. Food attracts hungry children to school, the feeding program gives these kids an education that helps lift them out of poverty. Children get at least one nutritious meal a day. Take-home rations for families are given.
