8 USDA Foods Updates Processed product change for SY17-18 Effective July 1, 2017, the storage and distribution of USDA Foods processed products will go through commercial distributors. Processed Products will no longer go through warehouses 8
9 Why the change? Greater inventory control for limited on-site freezer capacity. On demand ordering and delivering rather through commercial distributor orders. Greater opportunities to efficiently and effectively procure USDA Foods processed products in conjunction with existing procurement of non-usda Foods through commercial distributors. 9
10 Commercial Bid Change! Your SY commercial bid needs to included your processed products with desired volume indicated on your bid. This lets your distributor know what you will need for processed product(s) in SY and in what volume. Also it will assist with your regulatory requirement to bid for process end products. 10
