4 Steps to Begin Data Synchronization with Dawn Foods 1. Load your item information into your home data pool to ensure it is ready for publication. Contact your data pool or solution provider for any assistance that you may require on this step. 2. Review the attribute requirement information in this document to ensure that you have the required attributes populated. 3. Complete your supplier GDSN Registration, if you have not already done so. 4. Dawn Foods will create a subscription for your Information Provider GLN / Target Market US. 5. Dawn Foods will the Supplier s GDSN Contact a list of items that Dawn Foods needs published to them. This item list will be in Excel format. 6. Supplier should review the list of items and notify Dawn Foods of any obsolete items. Return the Excel file highlighting the items that are obsolete. 7. Supplier should first publish a small number of items to Dawn Foods. Dawn Foods will review these items and begin to synchronize them with Dawn Foods trading partners. 8. Dawn Foods will notify the Supplier s GDSN Contact that the small number of items was successfully synchronized with Dawn Foods trading partners. 9. Supplier will publish all remaining current items to Dawn Foods. Dawn Foods will review these items and synchronize them with Dawn Foods trading partners. 10. Supplier will update GDSN with all changes and corrections to items. Dawn Foods will automatically propagate these changes to its trading partners via GDSN. 11. The current new item introduction process in place at Dawn Foods will remain as is. 4

5 What Will Dawn Foods Do with Supplier s Data? Dawn Foods will use the supplier s GDSN product data to fulfill trading partners GDSN requirements for all products that Dawn Foods distributes. Dawn Foods will determine what levels of the product hierarchy will be sold to Dawn Foods trading partners. Dawn Foods will change the Orderable Flag and other order-related fields as required to meet Dawn Foods requirements. Dawn Foods will publish at the appropriate level to meet Dawn Foods requirements. Dawn Foods GDSN Attribute Requirements Dawn Foods currently requires the following set of attributes. These may change in future as retailers change their requirements. The attributes below are the minimum core/logistics information: GTIN Product Type (e.g. case, inner pack, each, etc.) Target Market Information Provider GLN Brand Name Functional Name Product Description Global Product Classification Code Start Availability Date Dimensions Height, Width, Depth and Unit of Measure Gross Weights at every level of the packaging hierarchy Base Unit, Consumer Unit, Orderable Unit, Shipping (Dispatch) Unit, Invoice Unit, Variable Weight Unit Indicators Net Content on Base Unit or Consumer Unit Package Marked Returnable ALL applicable New Major Release data Food Service Attributes Dawn Foods is following the guidelines adopted by GS1 Foodservice Initiative to receive information included in Phase Two of the project initiative. The information that is being requested belongs to the nutritional and allergen information. 5
