Day 1 Essential Questions: ~What are the different body systems? ~What are the parts of the systems? ~How is this system connected to other body systems? ~How do you keep this system working properly?
*Teachers read Cardiovascular System The cardiovascular systems function is to pump blood and deliver it to the rest of the body. The cardiovascular system is most closely related to the circulatory system. The blood that the cardiovascular system pumps is transported throughout the body by the blood vessels, which are part of the circulatory system. *Students copy The cardiovascular system: made up of the Heart Function- pump blood and deliver to the body Closely related to circulatory system Blood transported by blood vessels
*Teachers The circulatory system is responsible for transporting blood, nutrients, and gases through the body. The circulatory system also helps rid the body of waste. Another way that the circulatory system is beneficial is that it transports red blood cells through the body using the blood stream. Well, what makes up the circulatory system... *Students The circulatory system: made up by the heart, blood vessels responsible for transporting blood, nutrients, and gases through the body helps rid body of waster transports red blood cells using blood stream Key Words: Moves and Transports Circulatory System Click Here to Learn More
September 13, 2017 Circulatory System In summary the circulatory system is like UPS. It moves things all over the country. Except in this case it transports/moves stuff such as oxygen, blood, waste, nutrients, and gases all over the body. For Example: The circulatory system will move blood cells as well as oxygen throughout the body using the bloodstream. As you can see the circulatory system goes through all the vital organs in the body.
Day 2: Body Systems Cont... Today we will continue learning about the different body systems and check our research and fill in any gaps we have in our notes of the body systems. So, let's start with a quick review. *What is the function of the circulatory system? *What is the function of the cardiovascular system?
*teachers The respiratory system is responsible for bringing in oxygen and ridding our bodies of carbon dioxide, which is know as breathing. The respiratory system also provides oxygen for our bodies and cells. The respiratory system and the circulatory system work very well together. As the respiratory system provides oxygen for the body, while the circulatory transports the oxygen to cells. The two systems also work together to remove carbon dioxide as well. *Students Respiratory System The respiratory system: Made up by Lungs, Diaphragm, Windpipe, Nose, Mouth Brings in oxygen and rids body of carbon dioxide (breathing) provides oxygen to our body and cells respiratory and circulatory work together Both systems work to remove carbon dioxide Unlike some of the other body systems the respiratory system can actually get stronger. The more you exercise and play the stronger you're lungs will get.
Digestive System *Teachers The digestive systems function is to break down food into nutrients. The digestive system also helps move the nutrients into the blood stream. The nutrients that are made by the digestive system become energy that the body needs to function. There are two systems that the digestive system works with the most. One is the muscular system and the other is the circulatory system. The digestive system works with the muscular system by creating the energy that the muscles needs to move. The circulatory system works with the digestive system by transporting the nutrients created by the digestive system to the rest of the body. *Students The digestive system: Made up of Mouth, Teeth, Stomach, Esophagus, Intestines Function- break down food into nutrients Moves the nutrients into the blood stream Nutrients become energy Digestive systems works with the muscular system- creating energy muscles need to move Circulatory system works with digestive by transporting nutrients
Day 3: Skeletal System *Teachers The skeletal system is responsible for protection, shape, and support. For example the skeletal system protects all some of your most vital organs, such as the brain, lungs, and heart. The skeletal system creates red blood cells which the circulatory system transports. The skeletal system helps the body move. Muscles are connected to bones. Since they are connected your bones provides support to the muscles which in the end helps your body move. This is a prime example of how the skeletal system and muscular system work together. *Students The skeletal system: Made up of Bones, Cartilage Responsible for protection, shape & support Protects all vital organs like the brain, lungs, and heart Creates red blood cells and helps the body move Bones provide support to muscles which help you move
The muscular systems is responsible for making the body move. The muscular system works very closely with the other systems. The muscular system relies on the digestive for energy. It relies on the respiratory to help provide it with the oxygen the muscles need. The cardiovascular and circulatory system pump and transport the blood to the muscles which they also need. The nervous system also works with the muscular system by sending it signals from the brain telling the muscles what to do. Even though the muscular system plays an important role without the other systems it would be no where near as effective. The muscular system: Made up of Muscles Responsible for making the body move Relies on the digestive system for energy relies on respiratory to help provide it with oxygen them muscles need Cardiovascular & circulatory system pump & transport blood to muscles Muscular System Just like the respiratory system the muscular system can also grow and get stronger. As you get older and stay active your muscles will also grow.
Nervous System, just an FYI... The nervous systems function is to send signals from and to the brain to the rest of the body through nerves. The brain is the most important part of the nervous system because it tells the body what to do. When you think of the nervous system think about your brain. Nervous System: Function- sends signals to and from the brain to body through nerves Brain is the most important part! Brain tells the body what to do
