A body of mass 5 kg is moving with a velocity of 10 m/s. A force is applied on it so that in 25 2 s, it attains a velocity of 35ms. Calculate the value of the force applied. 7. How will you justify that ice, water and steam are not different substances but different states of the same substance. 8. Draw a labeled diagram of the apparatus used to separate a mixture of two miscible liquids. 9. Explain the process of sublimation with the help of a diagram.

Stronger? 11. a) Name the animal tissue which is present in the larynx? b) Write the chemical constituents of this tissue? c) What functions does this tissue perform? 12. Two boys dropped sheets of paper from the top of the tower. One boy dropped his sheet of paper as such, while the other boy dropped it by changing it in the shape of a ball. Which sheet of paper will reach for the ground first? Explain why? (Assume air-resistance negligible). 13. Answer the following questions: a) State the type of motion shown by a freely failing stone. b) When a stone is thrown vertically upwards its velocity is continuously decreased. Why? c) Give an example of a motion in which average velocity is zero, but the average speed is not zero. 14. Car A of mass 1500 kg, travelling at 25 m/s collides with another Car B of mass 1000 kg travelling at 15 m/s in the same direction. After collision, the velocity of Car A becomes 20 m/s. Calculate the velocity of Car B after collision. 15. On Earth, how much force is needed to lift an object of mass 100 g. 16. Write the answer of the following with appropriate reason: a) How does value of g vary at equator and at poles b) Weight of an object is 98 N at the surface of the earth. What will be its weight at the centre of the earth? 2 c) The earth s gravitation force causes and acceleration of 5 m / s on a 1 kg mass somewhere in space. How much will the acceleration of a 3 kg mass be at the same place? 17. Bakut has a poultry farm. He feeds his birds with protein and fat rich diet in large amounts. Birds are in good health. But their egg quality is not good. a) What should he do to get good production of eggs. b) What should he add in the feed to make the shells of the eggs strong? 18.
