Aquamimicry (Bio) Shrimp Farming Protocol Fermented Rice Bran and Fermented Soya Intensive Culture with High Aeration CONDITIONS: Pond Size : One Hectare (HA) Stocking density : pcs per sqm Salinity : ppt Culture species : L. vannamei (Updated July ) AGED POND: Analyzes the ph of your pond bottom soil (Min depth of 15 cm) Ø Check the soil ph (Lower soil ph is an indication of organic waste accumulation) Ø Analyze the soil ph, randomize throughout the pond area. FIRST STEP RESTORES AGED POND PROBLEMS: Ø DO NOT apply any type of DISINFECTANT or treat the pond with TOXIC chemical. Ø Pump the water into pond through mesh bag filtration. Ø Fill up the pond water with maximum of cm. - If center pond soil ph is : Apply 6 bottles of Red Cap (RC). - If center pond soil ph is : Apply 9 bottles of Red Cap (RC). - If center pond soil ph is : Apply 12 bottles of Red Cap (RC). - Chain dragging throughout the pond for at least 7 days with full aeration. SECOND STEP Created natural feed Copepod prior to stocking: Ø Apply kg (20 ppm) of Tea Seed Cake to eliminate the small fish (If any). Ø Apply kg (50 ppm) of ***GRINDED rice bran (RB), without any husk or broken rice along with 6 bottle of Red Cap (RC). Ø Higher dosages of ***GRINDED rice bran (100 ppm), enhances more copepod and invertebrate development. Suitable for high aeration system. Ø High aeration is needed during the start up, enhances the bloom of copepod as natural feed. Ø Chain dragging throughout the pond will greatly reduce the biofilm development. ***Ultra fine GRINDED rice bran 1
THIRD STEP BEFORE STOCKING: Ø Apply Liquid Fermented Rice Bran (LFRB) daily between 3-5 ppm (30-50 kg per hectare) or until the turbidity reaches cm. Preferably at 30 cm. Ø Check for the population density of zooplankton, invertebrates and biocolloids. - Copepods, zooplankton, diatoms and bloodworms are preferably. Ø Decides stocking date. Ø Continues aerate the system and maintain morning DO >5 ppm prior to stocking. Ø ph should be within the range of 7.6 to 80 Ø Chain dragging throughout the pond will greatly reduce the biofilm development. READY FOR STOCKING: Ø Select good healthy PL6-8 for stocking. (STRESS test for 1 hour or more in fresh water). Ø Antibiotics free post larvae are preferably. Ø Acclimatizes the temperature, ph and salinity properly (at least for 1 hour). Ø Copepods, rotifers are in sufficient densities to provide natural feed for PL6-8. AFTER STOCKING and MAINTAIN THROUGHOUT THE CYCLE: Ø Maintains Liquid Fermented Rice Bran (LFRB) daily between 1-5 ppm (10-50 kg per hectare) depends on the pond turbidity. Preferably at 30 cm. If the turbidity is higher than cm, reduce the amount of LFRB. If the turbidity is lower than cm, increase the amount of LFRB. Ø Turbidity (Biocolloids) should not be less than 30 cm throughout the cycle. Ø Daily check for early morning and late noon. - Make sure the ph are not fluctuate more than 0.2 log with max of 0.3 log throughout day and night. Most preferably at log. Ø Dissolve oxygen (D.O) should be maintain at least 5 ppm during late night and should not exceed 10 ppm during the day time. Between 5 8 ppm is most preferably. Ø Divides the LFRB solution for 1-2 times per day (early morning and afternoon), dilute with pond water and slowly widespread the LFRB throughout the pond if possible. Ø Apply Green Cap (GC) 2-4 bot monthly, will help reduce the build up of sludge. Apply during night time with full aeration is preferably. Ø Apply Yellow Cap (YC) 1-2 bot monthly, will help maintain stability of biocolloids in situ. Apply with FRb during day time with full aeration is preferably. Ø If observed any depletion in dissolved oxygen, immediately stop adding LFRB. Fully aerate the system and apply Green Cap 1/2 to 1 bottle/ha. - Chain dragging around the feeding zone for the first 15 days after stocking is still preferably (20% of total area/day). Avoid chain dragging around the center of the pond. Apply Green Cap (GC) before chain dragging will help to degrade the precipitated organic wastes at much faster rate. 2
SET UP : Preparation of Liquid Fermented Rice Bran (LFRB) to create the biocolloids and balanced pond ph throughout the cycle. Ø Set up the facilities to start fermentation process. Ø Select husk free rice bran and ***GRINDED ULTRA FINE pieces (for newly stocked pond or SMALL shrimp) prior to fermentation for at least 24 hours. Ø Liquid Fermentation (LFRB) with high aeration : Mixing 5-10:1 ratio, 5 to 10 liter of water + 1 kg of ***GRINDED rice bran material. Ø Add 1-3% of salt if fresh water is being used. Ø Dissolves 1-2 gm of White Cap (WC) with liter of water, suitable for 10 kg of rice bran. Higher dosage rate of White Cap (WC) will provide faster results. Ø Make sure to maintain the ph of LFRB at nearest to at all time. - If recognized low ph, then add calcium carbonate (CaCO 3 ) for ph buffering. Ø At start up the system. LFRB should be ***GRINDED or filtered to remove the big particles throughout the full cycle. Precipitation of large particles size that can cause black biofilm accumulated on the bottom. Ø Never use any mold or sour odor smelled LFRB. Bactipost Plus Red Cap (RC) 1. Restores Aged 6 to 12 bottles / Ha 2. Copepod 6 bottle / Ha Bactipost Green Cap (GC) Min 2-4 bottle per month Progest Yellow Cap (YC) Min 1-2 bottle per month Engest White Cap (WC) 1-2 g per 10 kg of Bran 1-2 g per 10 kg of Soya 3
APPLY FERMENTED Soya (FSy) FOR FASTER GROWTH. After 5 days of stocking PL6-8: Apply FSy at 1-3 kg per 100,000 pl per day in feed tray. Feeding rate: - 5% > 4% for 1-5 gram of shrimp body weight. 4% > 3% for 5-10 gram of shrimp body weight. 3% > 2% for gram of shrimp body weight. 2% > 1% for gram of shrimp body weight. Divides the total FSy and feeding at least 3-4 times per DAY. Feed tray sample at 1-2% is most preferably. Use SEIVED soya when shrimp average body weight are less than 1 gram. Preparation of Semi Solid Fermented Soya (FSy) : Granules form Ø Mixing 1:1 ratio. 1 liter of water + 1 kg of Soya (45-50% protein) (Soya Grit or Defatted or Deoiled or Dehulled Soya) Ø Add 1-3% of salt if fresh water is being used. Ø Dissolves 1-2 gm of White Cap (WC) with liter of water, suitable for 10 kg of Soya. Higher dosage rate of White Cap (WC) will provide faster results. Ø Fermentation process minimum of 12 hours are required. Ø Cover up the tray with any suitable material and keep in warm place. Ø Make sure the ph of Fermented Soya maintain at at all time. - If recognized low ph, then add calcium carbonate for ph buffering. Ø Never use any mold, acid or sour odor smelled FSy to feed shrimp. 4
Please note. Ø Fermented krill, fermented fish wastes, fermented worms, soy sauce, organic salt and minerals, seaweed, whole egg can also be used and combine in the fermented Soya. Ø Makes sure the ph is well balanced (completely steady) during day and night. If pond water becomes dark green, apply more LFRB and Green Cap (GC) and Yellow Cap (YC) to balances the system. PRECAUTIONS: - If found afternoon D.O. is above 10 ppm, is an indication of phytoplankton bloom. - ph fluctuate during the day and night is an indication of phytoplankton bloom. More LFRB is needed to balance the ecosystem. - Keep pond bottom as clean as possible at all time by applying Green Cap (GC). - Chain or Boat Rope dragging during the pond preparation and continuously 20% around the feeding zone per day until the first 15 days after stocking is preferably. Apply Green Cap (GC) before chain dragging will also help to degrade the wastes. - During the cycle, do not chain or rope drag and disturb the center of the pond or where sludge settled. - Pond water should be kept approx. 1 meter depth during the first 30 days with max. of meter (larger shrimp) for better D.O. and temperature exchanging. - Corner edge and dyke of the pond should always be free of black biofilm and filamentous algae. 5
