It s hard for some people to make the connection, and with good reason. Well, we re here to answer that question and shine a light on ALTRUM and what it means to AMSOIL Dealers. AMSOIL is at its core an oil company and allocates most of its resources to growing the AMSOIL product line, increasing marketing and sales avenues and supporting the Dealer network. That is our mission. While we d encourage Dealers to take advantage of any ALTRUM sales opportunity that presents itself, we d also encourage Dealers to focus their efforts on pursuing new AMSOIL business and servicing existing AMSOIL customers and accounts. And there s one really good reason why. We Will Not Compete We are not going to attempt to compete with mainstream one-a-day vitamins. Our goals and the goals of one-a-day vitamin manufacturers are completely has to stay in the black, and it has to support itself, but our Dealers and P.C.s and to help Dealers meet their of recognition. ALTRUM is expensive because you get what you pay for. Dealers cannot compete on the open market with ALTRUM prices, and that s OK. That s not what ALTRUM is for. Health is a Passion Many of us within the company are almost as enthusiastic about health and nutrition as we are about cars and powersports. We even opened a health club right next to AMSOIL corporate headquarters. Some because we want to be our best. Others, however, have pursued advanced knowledge in nutrition and nutritional supplements after learning about the power of nutritional supplementation. ALTRUM Manager Don Zupec, for example, started out with a basic interest in nutritional supplements to help him feel good and stay healthy. He dove deeper, however, after his daughter was diagnosed with celiac disease. Celiac disease is caused by a reaction to gluten, which is a protein found in grains such as wheat, barley and rye. There is no cure for celiac disease; however, adhering to a strict gluten-free diet provides substantial relief. People with celiac disease can live a normal life and be symptom free as quickly as a few weeks after switching to a gluten-free diet. After learning about celiac disease, Don s focus quickly turned to supplements. NOVEMBER 2016 Omega-3 Fatty Acids Provide Omega-3 fatty acids are considered essential fatty acids. They are necessary for human health, but the body can t make them. You have to get them through salmon, tuna and halibut; other seafoods, including algae and krill; some plants and nut oils. Also known as polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), omega-3 fatty acids play a crucial role in brain function, as well as normal growth and development. The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends trout, herring, sardines, albacore tuna and salmon) at least two times a week. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, research shows that omega-3 fatty acids reduce health concerns. Omega-3 fatty acids are highly concentrated in the brain and appear to be important for cognitive and behavioral function.
