2 Welcome Ulrich Stöckle Dieter Christian Wirtz Önder Aydingöz Dear Colleagues, The treatment of periprosthetic fractures is a challenge with increasing incidence. With decreased bone quality and numerous comorbidities of the patient the main question is, if the fracture can be fixed with an osteosynthesis or if the implant needs to be revised with respect to the stability of the implant. Within this EFORT ExMex we want exchange experiences in the treatment of periprosthetic fractures in different body areas from expert to expert in an open, interactive atmosphere. Well known International and National Orthopedic and Trauma faculty will present state of the art lectures regarding the treatment algorithm of the most common fracture entities. Within case discussions participants and faculty can discuss different treatment options and in hands-on workshops special implants for the treatment of periprosthetic fractures can be trained.
