1 17 Children Treated MONTERREY TRAINING VISIT REPORT MARCH 3-10, 2019 ZAMBRANO HELLION HOSPITAL MONTERREY, MEXICO Thank you to all Rotary Global Grant sponsors including the Rotary Clubs of Santa Catarina, Conejo Valley, Contry de Guadalupe, Sierra Madre, Monterrey Metropolitano, Monterrey Cumbres, Rotary Districts 4130 and 7255, Gift of Life Rotary District 7500 Foundation, Gift of Life Los Angeles and The Rotary Foundation.
2 ROTARIANS IN ACTION
3 Healing Little Hearts in Monterrey Gift of Life International is proud to partner with Rotary, CardioChavitos, TecSalud Foundation, Zambrano Hellion Hospital and Dr. Rodrigo Soto and his medical team as we continue healing little hearts in Mexico. We are grateful to the Santa Catarina Rotary Club (Host Partner Club) and to the Conejo Valley Rotary Club (International Partner Club) for joining with the many Rotary Global Grant contributors to make this training mission possible. The March 2019 training mission provided treatment to 17 Mexican children. Nine children received open-heart surgery, seven children received interventional catheterizations (one also had surgery) and two children received diagnostic catheterizations. This training mission completes all four visits funded through Rotary Global Grant During these four mission trips a total of 58 children were treated for their heart ailments. Our sincere thanks to the visiting medical team, led by Dr. Rodrigo Soto, for sharing their knowledge and skills with the local healthcare professionals. Thank you to the dedicated team at Zambrano Hellion Hospital for your hospitality, your willingness to learn and the love you have for the children of your country. The CardioChavitos team, together with local Rotarians, coordinated all logistics for the mission and helped to ensure another very successful mission. Once again, CardioChavitos coordinated a workshop prior to the mission to prepare all parents and children for what to expect pre-op and post-op and to ease the anxiety of going through this heart healing process.
