2 Calm Your Stress Away First... Imagine You are in the street and a man in uniform comes over to you and says something in a language you don t understand. How would you feel? Puzzled? Now... Imagine you are in the street and a man in uniform comes over to you and says clearly in English You have been chosen to be shot. How would you feel? Stressed? There are no external differences in the two examples. The only difference is the one inside your head, where you understood what he said and that s where the stress was generated. Blame who or what you like, but there is only one person who can stress you out and that is you. You cause all your stress so you can stop it! We all need some stress in our lives, to grow and develop motivation. But sometimes we need to take control and switch it off. It sounds easy and it is but first you have develop a new habit pattern Stare at the image on the right for a few minutes. In future when faced with a situation bringing on stress, you will think of this image and take three deep breaths CALM As you do this their body will automatically become calm, more relaxed, and able to cope with the situation. To make this habit pattern, you have make a copy of the Merrilon Calm symbol, and record the hypnotic script below - a tape recording is ideal. Then find a the time to relax and hypnotise yourself regularly with your recording until this becomes a habit pattern. On each occasion you should be sitting in a comfortable chair, with the Calm symbol in easy view, perhaps on the computer screen. You do not need silence but there should be no distractions such as noisy friends or mobile phones. Do this whenever your technique needs a boost. Here is your script - Ready it fairly slowly and pause between each line
3 The Script This is a hypnotic recording and should not be played in a car or when using machinery. If an emergency should arise whilst the recording is being played, you will immediately come to a full awakening consciousness and deal with the situation intelligently and calmly.. First, make yourself comfortable. Loosen any tight clothes, perhaps undo a top button. Any thing to make yourself feel Really relaxed and comfortable. If you are comfortable - I ll begin. Look at the calm symbol. And fix your eyes on it. Take a few deep breaths. Breathing in and out. Keep breathing in a comfortable way for you And keep you eyes focused on the calm symbol OK That s right. Keep breathing in and out. Stare at the calm symbol Burn it into your mind Mentally say the word Calm Keep breathing in a comfortable way for you And keep you eyes focused on the calm symbol Then in your own time When it feels right One occasion as you breathe out Simply let your eyelids relax And roll down gently Staying closed and relaxed down Keep breathing calmly, And gently, Relaxed and comfortable In your mind
4 Still seeing the calm image. And just relax. (Pause) (Pause) OK Now move your attention From the calm image To your eyes And the muscles of your eyelids Now simply let them relax down, Just let them relax right down, And relax a little more, As they relax down more and more Some people say they get warmer or cooler If this should happen It s OK. Just calmly let them relax more and more As they become more relaxed They may seem a little heavier, Nice and heavy Nice and relaxed, Heavy and relaxed Relaxed and heavy, Simply relax those eyelids right down To a point where they simply will not open. Because you ve relaxed them right down, That s right Just relax them right down And now let that lovely feeling of relaxation Spreading from your eyes To your forehead Down through your head Through your neck
5 Bringing a total peace, contentment and calm Rolling down across your shoulders and arms Going deeper into greater relaxation Moving down through your chest Down to your stomach Feeling beautifully relaxed and peacefully contented Down your thighs relaxing down through your legs And feet to the tips of your toes. Feel that deep relaxed contentment Throughout your body See the image and say the word Calm You can feel this feeling whenever you wish. Just visualize the Calm image Enjoy the feeling of beautifully relaxed and calm. When you close your eyes take a deep breath, And mentally say the word calm You will feel this feeling or calm relaxation.. In the future When you feel stress coming on Just visualize the Calm image And breath in the feeling of beautifully relaxed and calm. Rise above stressful situations By working towards the best solution When facing any worry which would have once caused you stress Just visualize the Calm image And breath in the feeling of beautifully relaxed and calm. You will understand yourself and others better. You become a happier, healthier more loving Stronger within yourself And, therefore, more able to cope with the world. Practice everyday
6 Just visualize the Calm image And breath in the feeling of beautifully relaxed and calm. Enjoy those beautiful feelings, You are ready to face any problem. Daily practice will make you more relaxed More dynamic and more productive In a calm, assured, and positive way And now it is time to come back To full awakening consciousness I am going to count to 10 With each number you will become more and more awake. When I reach 10 you will be fully awake and aware, feeling bright, happy and ready for anything the world might have for you awakening 4 5 coming up 6 7 eyes opening 8 feeling brighter 9eyes opening 10 fully awake and feeling great.
