1 Position Title: Grade 2 Physiotherapist (Permanent Part Time 16 hours per week) Reports To: Senior Clinician-Physiotherapy Programs Chief Physiotherapist Allied Health Manager Division: Community Services Direct Reports: Grade 1/ New graduate Physiotherapists Physiotherapy Students (other Medical/Health students) Allied Health Assistants Primary Objective: To provide physiotherapy services to assigned caseload in all CAH settings with a particular emphasis on acute and geriatric presentations. To provide a physiotherapy service to current community health and community rehabilitation group programs ( e.g. Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation) To assist with supervision of Grade 1 physiotherapists and Allied Health Assistants. To work as an effective interdisciplinary team member to provide and assist with coordinating best practice Physiotherapy Service by involvement in relevant working parties and committees and feeding back to the physiotherapy team as appropriate. 3 Key Accountabilities Key Result Area Major Activities Performance Measures: 1. Quality Care- Clinical Care Plan, implement and evaluate Physiotherapy intervention for allocated client caseload. Participate and ensure effective interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary teamwork. Tasks are at least 75% patient related and 25% non-patient related, as per the National Consortium of Allied Health. This intervention will be accessible, responsive and accountable to the needs of individual clients. To deliver best practice Physiotherapy intervention to clients that meets the guidelines of the Australian Physiotherapy Association Code of conduct of the Physiotherapist Board of Australia. Client treatment effective and goals achieved. File audits reflect adherence to documented standards. Evaluation results documented. PJB audits reflect appropriate time utilization. Adherence to best practice guidelines 2. Responsibility and Leadership Promote and take a leadership role with various Physiotherapy related services and program discussions and planning. To provide leadership within the Physiotherapy team ensuring the service meets best practice guidelines. Provide regular supervision to relevant Physiotherapy staff, Allied Health Assistant staff and students. Documented guidelines adhered to. Evidence of supervision arrangements Student exit evaluations indicate student satisfaction and leaning goals met. Demonstration of problem solving approach. Specific projects identified, documented and completed. Assist with recruitment, leave arrangements and professional development opportunities for Physiotherapy Staff. 4 student placements at C.A.H. Identify issues, considers solutions and presents these to physiotherapy manager. Participates in problem solving and decision making with manager. Participates in specific and delineated projects and activities, which may include leadership in a particular project. 3. Information Management Client documentation completed to adhere to documented guidelines. Statistics are recorded and monitored against targets as per funding body requirements. Staff workloads monitored Participate in data analysis and reviews as required. Retrospective file audits reflect compliance with documented protocols. PJB audits reflect requirements are met. Workloads monitored through PJB 4. Communication and Relationship Management Coordinate team meetings for Physiotherapy staff during absence of Physiotherapy manager. Participate in the Allied Health Coordinators meetings and communicate relevant information to Physiotherapy staff during absence of Physiotherapy manager. Communication is effective and appropriate in regard to sharing information and forming relationships with clients. Ability to impart knowledge e.g. students, Evidence of attendance and participation at team meetings e.g. minutes Regular participation at Allied Health team Meetings as requested. Quality and Risk Management Demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement and achievement of excellence in service delivery. Manages Quality, Risk and OHS issues in accordance with appropriate CAH policy. Attends to portfolio requirements as documented. Actively Participates in the ACHS EQuIP accreditation program. Participates in and supports data collection as requested. Instigates and actively participates in Quality Improvement Activities. Demonstrated participation in accreditation processes Evaluate outcomes for clients in allocated caseload. Outcome measure evaluation results documented, and indicated changes implemented. Adherence to documented clinical guidelines which indicate clinical best practice. Supports staff in the management of patient complaints and staff grievances, ensuring appropriate reporting through the Riskman complaint management system. Actively utilizes the CAH Quality Management Information System Participates in the review of current policies and contributes to the development of new policy. Supports staff in the management of clinical and occupational health and safety risks, ensuring appropriate reporting through the Riskman complaint management system. Person Specification: Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes: Degree in Physiotherapy Physiotherapy registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Current Drivers licence Minimum of 2 years experience in the health sector Demonstrated physiotherapy clinical care skills, experience and ability to manage and prioritise a varied caseload. Highly professional and effective behaviour, interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in managing and supervising Grade 1 and Allied health staff Excellent written and verbal communication skills Team oriented IT competency An understanding of Health Policy and Funding arrangements for health service delivery An understanding of the Health Issues facing the Colac Community.
