3 nd by the Lake The goal of this program is to provide current information on the use of ultrasound and MRI for imaging of the body. It is expected that registrants will learn the current approach to the non-invasive imaging of the neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and cardiovascular system. It will provide an opportunity to assess the relative merits and indications for the use of these two modalities in the various organ systems. After attending this course, participants should be able to: Evaluate multiple diagnostic problems employing diagnostic ultrasound and MRI; List the benefits and limitations of ultrasound and MRI in multiple diagnostic areas; Better interpret ultrasound and MR images; Appreciate the indications for the use of MRI in comparison to ultrasonography. Enrollment Pre-registration is encouraged to ensure your space in this course. Tuition: $825 for practicing physicians; $675 for fellows, residents, technologists and nurses (with a letter of verification). Pre-register by June 18, 2004 and save $50 on your registration fee. UCSF designates this educational activity for a maximum of 22.5 category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that s/he actually spent in the activity. Included in the total credits are credits in ultrasound. Nurses: The California State Board of Registered Nursing accepts courses approved for AMA PRA category 1 credit as meeting the continuing education requirements for renewal (nurses from states other than California should inquire with their local state board for specific continuing education policies). Nurses may report 22.5 contact hours if they attend the entire program. Technologists: This program is approved for AMA-CMA category 1 credit and will be accepted toward meeting the continuing education requirements of the ASRT.
