Practical assessment and treatment of posture, poor stereotypes of respiration and functional stabilization of the spine was also addressed. Treatment of the deep stabilizing system of the spine, and many neurologic, orthopedic and pediatric conditions using principles of reflex locomotion were demonstrated and practiced. The importance of understanding privacy setting options and how to use social media without compromising one s professional image was also taught. Bowers, DC Course addressed the concept of informed consent, legally how the process came about, the three major aspects of the process of obtaining informed consent, challenges encountered when obtaining informed consent, and considerations one must always take into account to be sure one is being culturally competent and honoring cultural difference when informed consent is the standard. (November 2012) Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA): An Evidence-Based Clinical Model to Address Regional Interdependence Instructor: Behnad Honarbakhsh Course introduced a series of 7 full-body movement tests designed to assess fundamental patterns of movement such as bending and squatting in those with known musculoskeletal pain. This comprehensive movement assessment is used to assist and guide the clinician to categorize movement patterns and direct manual therapy and therapeutic exercise choices with patients in a clinical setting.
