2 PT SOLUTIONS RESIDENCY PROGRAM PT Solutions Orthopaedic Residency is credentialed by the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education. The program is credentialed through August of Founded in 2003 Private Company 91 Points of Service 8 States Evidence-Based Care PT SOLUTIONS: AN OVERVIEW PT Solutions is a private physical therapy practice with 91 points of service in 8 states. PT Solutions was founded in 2003 and has grown through one focus: skilled and evidence-based delivery of care. Our practice covers primarily outpatient orthopaedic physical therapy and sports medicine, and our practitioners are focused on service, skill and outcome of the patient. We strive to exceed expectations in all aspects of our practice. Our clinics drive the orthopaedic practitioner to excellence, with sports medicine affiliations across all sports, from youth to professional. We have been involved in the treatment and return to sport of various Olympic, collegiate and professional sports athletes, ranging from gymnasts to players in the NHL, NBA, NFL, and MLB. 3 OUR TRAINING FACILITY: The training center includes treatment, didactic and state of the art audiovisuals in the delivery of course materials and clinical skill practice. The training center is located 19 miles north of Atlanta, Georgia. Metro Atlanta has a population of five million residents and is home to various cultural, recreational, collegiate, and professional sports. Atlanta is a quick drive to Atlantic and Gulf Coast beaches and is host to the largest airport in the world, carrying the most passengers with direct flights to multiple destinations. In addition to being PT Solutions headquarters, Atlanta serves as the headquarters of many multinational companies including: Coca Cola, The Home Depot, Porsche, First Data, and UPS among others.

4 ABOUT THE RESIDENCY PROGRAM PT Solutions Residency program s mission is to mentor, develop and mold therapists into leaders of the orthopaedic physical therapy practice. The program is composed of didactic lecture, clinical mentorship and a clinical research model, which is based on current evidence and clinical practice relevant to today. Our faculty consists of clinical experts in the orthopaedic physical therapy field, who possess superior technical skills in the areas of: evaluation, manual treatment, advanced therapeutic exercise, and training methods. Our faculty includes therapists who have developed and managed private practices, hospitals, professional sports medicine programs, as well as running, cycling and triathlon assessments and training programs. The faculty is sports medicine trained and affiliated. PT Solutions Residency program instructors include: Board Certified Specialists, Residency and Fellowship graduates, business owners, and orthopaedic surgeons who enhance the overall impact on life-long learning and skill development.

5 OUR GOALS ARE TO: Promote the advancement and development of orthopaedic physical therapy specialty Develop practitioners with superior knowledge in clinical practice and manual skill Promote community involvement through education, service and leadership, resulting in a community who is educated about service but also benefits from the improvement in quality of life Cultivate therapists who seek to contribute to the overall body of knowledge within the specialty of orthopaedic physical therapy, through research and literary contributions, possessing the ability to speak and teach professionally Ensure practice standard of evaluative, treatment and outcome assessment Develop orthopaedic physical therapists who not only have drive and superior skill but also mold them into successful private practitioners Produce therapists prepared to take the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties test to become orthopaedic clinical specialists

6 THE CURRICULUM The clinical didactic segment of our residency program is 200 hours of classroom instruction in our state of the art training facility. Didactic sessions include manual and clinic practice by the oversight of clinical faculty. The classroom portion includes oral, written and practical examinations. To enhance teaching skills and mentoring communication, residents relay material to clinical staff through oral and demonstrational presentations. The mentoring component of the residency is a combination of 1 to 1 clinical mentoring, paired with training center mentorship. The mentor provides feedback and clinical reasoning enhancement of the patient/therapist relationship. Clinical practice is utilized to demonstrate immediate adaptive response of manual and clinical skills on different patient populations.

7 EXPECTATIONS Expectations of the Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Resident program revolve around an active engagement in practice advancement, with reading, anatomy and biomechanics preparation prior to didactic and mentoring sessions. Residency requires written and oral exams. Our program includes both a case study and case series, with the case series being prepared for formal submission and publication. The curriculum requires live patient examination and treatment assessments. Expectations for graduation include: 1) Oral and written examinations 2) Successful presentations of case study and case series 3) Submission of cases series for publication to the Journal Orthopaedic Physical Therapy 4) Successful completion of all coursework and submissions within 13 months from start of program 5) Strict attendance

8 HOW TO APPLY PT Solutions Residency Program application is through the RF-PTCAS website ( Interviews for the residency program begin in April. The program commences the following September and ends 13 months later. For the most up-to-date information, visit Selection criteria include: academic rigor, clinical education preparation, interest in private practice physical therapy, letters of recommendation, and pursuit in community service. Therapists must maintain a high expectation level for customer service and clinical skill development, along with a thirst for knowledge. Therapists must be licensed to practice physical therapy in the state of Georgia. COSTS: There are no direct costs of the program to the applicant. Applicants are paid a full salary and benefits, including participation in PT Solutions financial incentive programs. Residents are expected, in lieu of payment for residency, to provide a service time requirement.
