2 CLINICAL EXPERIENCE September 2003 present November 2004 to present October 2015 to present Examiner Los Angeles Superior Court Child Dependency Panel Examiner Los Angeles Superior Court Criminal Panel for Psychiatrists and Psychologists Clinical Psychologist II Twin Towers Correctional Facility Conduct mental health screenings in the Inmate Reception Center (IRC) to assess for acute mental health concerns and provide immediate intervention. May 2012 October 2015 Supervising Clinical Psychologist Los Angeles County Mental Health Long Beach Child and Adolescent Program I provided supervision and training for the pre-doctoral internship program. Primary duties included providing seminars in specialty areas such as psychological assessment, sex offense, and violence risk assessment. I also provided in-service trainings, staff development, programs, mental health consultation and education, crisis intervention and other services depending on the needs of the program and the surrounding community. November 2011 May 2012 Clinical Psychologist II Los Angeles County Mental Health Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall Provided mental health services for incarcerated juveniles and managed the juvenile sex offender unit. Specialty areas include sex offender evaluations and violence/risk 2

3 assessments. Clinical services are provided for juvenile and adult forensic populations. September 2001 to June 2009 Clinical Psychologist II Twin Towers Correctional Facility Provided psychological evaluations, individual and group therapy and mental health consultations for forensic populations. I also supervised psychology interns and postdoctoral fellows in the area of psychological assessment. September 2000 to September 2001 Postdoctoral Fellow, APA Accredited Harbor UCLA Medical Center and Twin Towers Correctional Facility Provided psychological services to adult populations in both a medical and correctional setting. Clinical responsibilities included individual and group therapy and psychological assessment. In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I supervised doctoral level interns with administering, scoring and interpretation of psychological assessments. August 1998 August 1999 Clinical Psychology Intern Houston Veterans Affairs Medical Center Responsibilities during this generalist model internship included provision of neuropsychological and personality assessments. I also provided individual, family, couples and group therapy to patients addressing substance abuse, sex offenses and behavioral medicine. January 1999 September 1999 Clinical Psychology Intern-Forensic Psychology Brown, Nelson, Frank & Associates Services included assessment, consultation and interviewing. I also assisted with court ordered psychological evaluations for sex offenses. 3

4 August 1997 Counseling Assistant Provided individual and couples therapy to university students, conducted psychological evaluations, supervised master level practicum students, provided after hour crisis intervention and developed and provided outreach workshops. August 1997 Counselor, Medical Psychology Pullman Memorial Hospital Responsibilities included provision of brief and long term therapy from a behavioral medicine framework to students with psychiatric problems manifesting in physical complaints. Issues addressed included HIV assessments management of chronic pain, gastrointestinal disorders, headaches, insomnia, stress management, anxiety disorders and chronic illness with a particular emphasis on biofeedback. September 1996 May 1997 Counseling Assistant Northwest Children s Home Practicum: Assisted with individual play and group therapy. August 1995 Doctoral Practicum Counselor This five-semester practicum included provision of individual, couples and group counseling and intake assessments. I also developed outreach workshops for the Student Advising and Learning Center for students who were below acceptable academic standards. October 1993 July 1994 Probation Counselor Orange County Probation Dept. Responsibilities included counseling and supervision of incarcerated minors. 4

5 September 1991 September 1993 Behavioral Specialist College Hospital Assisted with group and family therapy on adult and adolescent inpatient units. RESEARCH September 2001 September 2004 Clinical Psychologist-Researcher Department of Mental Health Three year research study evaluating incarcerated women with children who were dually diagnosed with a mental illness and substance abuse diagnosis. This study specifically addressed recidivism and treatment interventions in custody and post custody. August 1995 Graduate Research Assistant Conducted research examining counselor credibility and gift-giving in the development of effective treatment strategies for ethnic minorities. Research team designed an instrument to measure the extent to which certain behaviors may contribute to the continued use of counseling among various racial/ethnic groups.
