9 Coordinators in prisons Coordinator is a representative for the Center in prison, his main tasks include: Informing about activities in the Center; Providing motivational activities for inmates; Reporting about inmate behavior and participation in the resocialization programs; Selecting potential inmates for Centre and organizing individual consultations with them; Creating the waitng list of potential participants for Centre; Submitting recommendations for the inmate resocialization. 9
10 Department of evaluation Purpose: evaluation of dependent inmate s risks and needs in order to apply the right programme for the best resocialization. Also motivational interviewing, adaptation and stabilization. Evaluation of: 1. Levels of Dependency 2. Problem Areas of the inmate s life 3. Motivation to live without substance use Methods: In depth analysis of risks and needs by psychologists, group work by contactpersons 1 0

12 Atlantis programme Purpose: self-development, growth and self-improvement, qualitative changes in all areas of life, deep self-analysis, defence mechanism reconstruction Topics: addiction and it s influence on life, social skills, assertive behavior, feelings and their importance in life, pervention of relapse, regulation of emotion, HALT, cognition and cognitive errors, crisis. Specific methods: role play, emotion recognition training, work with psychologists, individual tasks, deepened self-analysis 1 2
13 Pathfinder programme Purpose: life restructurization with social skills learning and practical training. Topics: addiction, social roles and social norms, regime and its impact on the areas of life, responsibility, making contacts, adaptation in the society, goal setting, time management, finance planning, vision of future, work, free time, education. 27 The requirements In order to open the Centre and implement the new model Corrections in law (Penal code and new regulations from Cabinet of Ministers) Cooperation with non-governmental organizations New staff position for coordinators in prisons Employee training Informational campaigns in all prisons of Latvia 2 7
28 First year statistics - Starting from 30th november, 2016, the Center has taken up 121 inmates, from whom 12 were women; - 48 inmates has succesfully completed one of the programmes in Centre; - 33 inmates had been excluded from programmes without finishing them. 2 8
