6 Meeting Information Resident/Fellow Members and Medical Students Activities Clinical vignettes, posters, and research papers prepared by Resident/Fellow Members and Medical Students will be presented at the meeting. Winners will receive $200 and be eligible for entrance into the national competition held during Internal Medicine Meeting Contact Andrew Olson, MD, at for information about entering the Resident/Fellow Members Competition. Deadline for submissions is September 30, Receptions on November 8 and 9 are for all attendees. All abstracts submitted will be e-published at united-states/minnesota-chapter/news-meetings. Winning abstracts will be published in Minnesota Medicine in 2019 Learning Objectives At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to: Apply updated knowledge of internal medicine to clinical practice. Apply updated knowledge of use of opioids and pain management, reducing gun violence, addressing diagnostic errors, noninvasive cardiac testing, and other relevant topics for care of patients in the clinic and hospital. Understand recent advances in internal medicine. Chapter Awards It is with distinct pleasure that the Minnesota Chapter presents a Laureate Award. Laureate Award winners are long-standing and loyal supporters of the College who have rendered distinguished service to their chapters and community and have upheld the high ideals and professional standards for which the College is known. The award will be presented during Friday lunch and awards session. CME Accreditation The American College of Physicians (ACP) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The ACP designates each live activity for the number of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) TM listed below. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Apply updated knowledge of internal medicine to clinical practice. Understand recent advances in internal medicine. Complete an ABIM SEP Module toward partial fulfillment of the ABIM s Maintenance of Certification. SEP Note The Minnesota Chapter will provide you with a learner s copy of the ABIM module(s) at the meeting. If you are enrolled in the ABIM s Maintenance of Certification program, you also must order the module* directly from the ABIM by visiting After the Learning Session, submit your answers online to the ABIM for Maintenance of Certification credit.
