Re:Cognition Health Medico-Legal & Traumatic Brain Injury Services 77 Wimpole Street London W1G 9RU Contact us to book an appointment today. We provide expert-witness reports and innovative traumatic brain injury services. We have brought together leading UK brain injury specialists to provide comprehensive medical experience and expertise for lawyers requiring expert witness reports and bespoke rehabilitation services, for managing traumatic and acquired brain injury. We offer a range of services to claimant and defendant lawyers and independent case managers, as well as to insurers seeking to mitigate long-term and high-value neurological claims.
Under the leadership of CEO and Consultant Neuroradiologist, Dr Emer MacSweeney and Consultant Neurologist Dr Steven Allder, our medico-legal team provides an extensive skill set and includes: neuroradiologists, neurologists, neuropsychiatrists, psychiatrists, speech and language therapists, and also occupational, physio and vocational therapists. Their breadth of experience enables us to match the right expert to the right case improving, significantly, the opportunity for a successful outcome. The Re:Cognition Health Medico-Legal team are passionate about optimising quality of life following brain injury. Our specialists dedicate their time to provide education, clinical assistance and leadership to those who have sustained brain injuries and their carers. This is an important aspect of our integrated multidisciplinary rehabilitation service. We have also now extended these services to our Guildford Clinic and this includes an extension of our neuropsychology services to encompass this new location.
We understand the legal framework within which our clients operate and we provide seamless communication and expert advice at all times. Using the latest 3T MRI technology and neuroradiological expertise, our experts have solved several cases where previous brain imaging had failed to demonstrate brain injury.
We provide Expert witness reports and client representation in court. Integrated opinion reports where a case requires input from more than one clinician. Advanced imaging, including 3T MRI scans, which can reveal abnormalities not present on scans taken at the time of the accident. Capacity assessments.
I have been using their service for 3T brain scans and expert reports in neuroradiology, neuropsychology, neuropsychiatry and neurology, and have been consistently impressed by the quality and speed of the medico-legal service I receive from Re:Cognition Health. Ben Posford Partner and Head of Catastrophic Injury Osbornes Solicitors LLP
Traumatic Brain Injury Services Over past 4 years Re:Cognition Health has been involved with assessment and care of patients with Mild Traumatic Brain Injury. We have found it is a very complex condition. Patients frequently don t realise what is happening but their symptoms seriously affect them. To make matters worse, their doctors struggle to make sense of their symptoms too. This means patients often feel lost and abandoned by the system. To make matters even worse patients often have physical symptoms, sleep symptoms and psychiatric symptoms.
At Re:Cognition Health we have developed diagnostic and treatment services for patients with acute (less than 3 months) subacute (3-12 months) and chronic symptoms (<12months). Ensuring the best possible outcome following a head injury can be a challenge, especially when the injury appears, initially, to have been fairly minor. Subsequent cognitive symptoms may have a significant impact on performance at work and at school which can have an impact on your day-to-day life. At Re:Cognition Health, we are committed to ensuring that symptoms are treated by the most suitable consultant and/or therapist right from the start. We are determined to ensure that your treatment plan is as successful as it possibly can be and, where appropriate, we will follow-up with an integrated treatment and rehabilitation plan.
Education Re:Cognition Health s medicolegal experts also provide educational presentations for lawyers, to introduce and explain the latest understanding of clinical and imaging innovations and technology. Our bi-annual conference for lawyers in October 2015 provided the first dedicated UK conference by doctors for lawyers, addressing complex diagnostic medical issues in the medico-legal arena.
In October 2017, we held our second conference Navigating The Mind-Field which was attended by 280 barristers, lawyers, case-managers and clinicians. We provide multiple presentations for groups of solicitors, at a central venue, or at their offices, throughout the year. Please contact our medico-legal department for details of events.
