2 Family Medicine: Hotel Nikko Board Review Course Presented by the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine, the Family Medicine Board Review Course provides a review of common problems encountered in Primary Care. The format is designed to help prepare eligible candidates for the American Board of Family Medicine examination. Presentations will cover a broad range of important clinical information in a board review format. A syllabus with outlines of all lectures as well as extensive ABFM style questions and answers is provided to attendees. TARGET AUDIENCE Clinicians interested in expanding their knowledge of Primary Care including Family Physicians, Internists, Pediatricians, OB/GYNs, Nurses. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this course, participants should: Improve their recognition and management of common inpatient and outpatient family practice issues such as diseases of the neonate and childhood, dermatologic problems, diabetes, hypertension, peptic ulcer disease and hepatitis, angina, dementia and stroke, musculoskeletal problems, and medical and surgical emergencies Refine their approach to the use of antibiotics and the treatment of sexually transmitted diseases Understand evidence-based guidelines for preventive medicine, and standard of care for obstetrics and office gynecology Be prepared for the ABFM certification and recertification examinations QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS WORKSHOPS will be conducted here to review typical board exam questions that relate to clinical practice. The workshops will be offered in Medicine, Pediatrics, and Obstetrics/Gynecology. ACCREDITATION The University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (UCSF) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. UCSF designates this educational activity for a maximum of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) TM. Physician should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This CME activity meets the requirements under California Assembly Bill 1195, continuing education and cultural and linguistic competency.
