2 Course Description One of the greatest challenges for the practicing urologist is staying abreast of the latest advances in the field. This course is designed for practicing urologists, who are interested in updating their knowledge in the diagnosis, evaluation and management of urologic problems. Distinguished faculty will present advances in the management of urological disease; including sexual function, uro-oncology, laparoendoscopic single-site surgery, robotic and reconstruction surgery with a strong emphasis on the technical aspects of various urological procedures. There will be ample time for questions and answers. Objectives Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to: Recognize clinical presentation and treatment options of various urologic abnormalities. Properly screen patients to determine the best surgical option that will result in the best patient outcome. Determine the latest methodology in the diagnosis and treatment of sexual dysfunction. Recognize the advantages of robotic-assisted surgery in the management of urologic cancers. Integrate into clinical practice advances in the management of prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer. Identify and select appropriately, patients with bladder carcinoma for treatement with neoadjuvant or adjuvant chemotherapy. Analyze advances in minimally invasive treatment of prostate cancer in order to optimize outcomes for treatment. Incorporate quality of life considerations in the treatment decision-making process for prostate cancer patients. Target Audience Urologists, Urology Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants Accreditation Physicians: is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. designates this live activity for a maximum of 14.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Nurses (ANCC): is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center s Commission on Accreditation. A maximum of 14.5 contact hours may be earned by learners who successfully complete this continuing nursing education activity. Physician Assistants: AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. Physician Assistants may receive a maximum of 14.5 hours of credit for completing this program.
