1 PROGRESS OF THE RESEARCH - Methodology for the definition of a urban sustainability and life quality index for elderly _ Questionnaire, interviews and surveys for elderly and professionals to identify the level of wellbeing, the needs and problems most felt and to determine the factors that most affect the quality of life _ Identification of features of the urban environment in order to increase their quality QUALITY OF LIFE a complex concept OBJECTIVE / SUBJECTIVE COMPONENTS + there are different forms of well-being such as economic, psychological, social, physical, etc The research intends to increase knowledge about conditions and needs of the third age people Rome _ Update 4_9_215 Rome

2 PROGRESS OF THE RESEARCH - Methodology for the definition of a urban sustainability and life quality index for elderly The elaborated index (I) includes 1 - objective indicators (statistical and literature data about the analyzed areas) 2 - subjective indicators (elderly feedback, questionnaires submitted to a sample of population and significant in-depth interviews to privileged interlocutors) 3 - judgment of experts (truthful weight to each indicator) Index elaborated for micro scale analysis, dividing urban areas in urban cells in order to highlight real needs of each specific subzone.
