1 13 th Annual Oregon Geriatrics Society Conference October 12-14, 2012 Sunriver, Oregon Sponsored by: Oregon Geriatrics Society and Division of Continuing Medical Education School of Medicine Oregon Health & Science University CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES The Oregon Geriatrics Society conference is designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, and other health care professionals who work with older adults in various care settings. At the conclusion of the conference, participants will be able to: The Oregon Geriatrics Society conference is designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, and other health care professionals who work with older adults in various care settings. At the conclusion of the conference, participants will be able to: Accurately diagnose all types of urinary incontinence and identify ways to conservatively treat these patients Identify two different frameworks for understanding behavioral symptoms in dementia Describe the differential diagnosis of pressure ulcers and develop a treatment strategy Develop a plan to address common risks in pain management for geriatric patients Determine when to switch patients beta blockers, when an ACE is needed and when to discontinue statin therapy Oregon Geriatrics Society Committees Participate in an OGS committee meeting on Sunday morning and bring your ideas for OGS operations and growth. Choose from Public Affairs, Education, or Membership.

American Medical Association: Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine, Division of Continuing Medical Education designates this live activity for a maximum of 16 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. American Nurses Credentialing Center recognizes AMA Category 1 Credits TM. American Medical Directors: This seminar has been approved for a total of 16 credits toward certification/recertification as a Certified Medical Director in Long-Term Care (CMD). 5 credits have been designated as Management hours and 11 credits have been designated as clinical hours.
