Educatinal Objectives: At the cmpletin f this seminar, participants will be able t: Discuss the cmmn psychiatric causes f prblem behavirs in individuals with dementia: Delirium Depressin Anxiety Behaviral and Psychlgical symptms f dementia Articulate the risks f depressin fr thse wh are prviding care fr individuals with dementia. Review cmmn treatment interventins that may be used with individuals wh are suffering frm dementia including cmmunicatin skills, behaviral management, and psychscial interventins. Identify evidence-based practices fr psychiatric issues f dementia. Explre cmmunity resurces available fr prfessinals and family caregivers. She has extensive clinical experience wrking in cmmunity mental health, geriatric assessment teams and lng-term care. In additin, she has been an instructr f psychiatry at the Penn State Cllege f Medicine.
