Yaremchuk, MD Professor of Surgery - Harvard Medical School, Chief of Craniofacial Surgery - Massachusetts General Hospital Boston, MA PROGRAM OBJECTIVES At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to: Discuss best practices and techniques in aesthetic and reconstructive oculoplastic surgery. Review the anatomy of the periorbital region in order to more safely perform the more common oculoplastic procedures including browlifts, upper and lower blepharoplasty, ptosis, ectropion repair and non-surgical treatment of periorbital aging. Review the common problems in surgical and non-surgical procedures of the periorbital region. Discuss techniques which may be used to prevent and manage complications following blepharoplasty.
5 ACCREDITATION The Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education in order to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons designates this educational activity for a maximum of 7 category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the activity. Of the 7 credits, 1.5 credits have been identified as applicable to patient safety p DISCLOSURE POLICY As a provider accredited by the ACCME, SESPRS must ensure balance, independence, objectivity and scientific rigor in all its individually sponsored or jointly sponsored educational activities. Presenters are required to disclose all relevant financial relationships with commercial interests, and these disclosures will be announced to the audience verbally and via slides. If a speaker fails to make a disclosure, that speaker is precluded from making a presentation at the meeting. Additionally, if any unapproved or off-label use of a product is to be referenced in a CME program presentation, the faculty member/participant is required to disclose that the product is either investigational or it is not labeled for the usage being discussed. SESPRS shall convey any information disclosed by the faculty member/participant to the CME program audience prior to the activity. COMMERCIAL SUPPORT DISCLOSURE SESPRS has requested commercial support from more than one company. Commercial supporters acknowledge that the Accredited Provider (SESPRS) will make all decisions regarding the disposition and disbursement of commercial support and that the funding received from each company will in no way affect; the identification of CME needs, determination of educational objectives, selection and presentation of content, selection of all persons and organizations that will be in a position to control the content of the CME, selection of educational methods, or evaluation of the activity. Per the ACCME Standards for Commercial Support, the SESPRS will ensure that no commercial support will be used to pay for travel, honoraria, or personal expenses for non-teacher or non-author participants associated with the CME activity. The SESPRS will, as requested, provide documentation detailing the receipt and expenditure of the commercial support. Commercial supporters also agree that no other support of any type, whether financial, travel, speaker s bureau funding will be provided to a particular faculty member relating to the meeting. The SESPRS will acknowledge all commercial supporters in conference materials in conjunction with the meeting, and in other ways as applicable according to the guidelines of our program.
