Interdisciplinary teams, composed of members of the different Health Sciences schools, are assigned an elderly client to visit for the year. As Operations Director of BCW, I managed the communication, relations and logistics for 100 volunteers and 15 clients. Student Health Action Coalition Community Outreach (SHAC) Co-Director, April 2008-May 2009 Participant, August 2007-May 2009 As Co-Director of SHAC Outreach involvement in Health Fairs, I managed and conducted SHAC s involvement with local health fairs for the Latino Community. I worked with local organizations, managed supplies, recruited volunteers, and directed screenings at health fairs. As a volunteer nutrition instructor for Operation Frontline, I helped coordinate and teach cooking classes in low income communities. As Reach Out and Read Coordinator for Sea Mar CHC, I procured and distributed books to 9 community clinics, obtained grant funding, and encouraged volunteer involvement. At SPCC, I helped organize programming and field trips for teens, as well as tutored and coached students after school RESEARCH EXPERIENCE UCSF Primary Care/General Internal Medicine Residency Program GeriWards Curriculum Development and Evaluation, Fall 2012-present Collaborated with Dr. Stephanie Rennke to expand GeriWards, an interprofessional workshop for health sciences students focused on geriatric specific problems in the inpatient setting. I am working to create, implement, and evaluate a new module on falls risk, assessment and prevention. Designing Clinical Research Course for Residents, Participant, October 2013 This month long course guides students through the essential components of writing a clinical research protocol as well as teaches study design, data analysis and management, sample size calculations, and power calculations.
