4 Statement of Need: With the increasing amount of controversial issues in the management of common injury patterns, there is a need for evidenced-based data and expert opinion in appropriate trauma care. This symposium will present a variety of these controversial issues in a debate format. This information will help guide healthcare providers to make informed decisions. Program Objectives: All CME activities are designed to improve patient care, safety and outcomes. At the conclusion of this conference, participants should be able to: Discuss the risks and benefits of the use of Massive Transfusion Protocols and platelet transfusions in trauma patients Explain the risks and benefits of the use of decompressive craniectomy and ICP monitoring in trauma patients Review the risks and benefits pre-hospital spinal immobilization and pre-hospital airway control in trauma patients. Target Audience: Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Registered Nurses, and Emergency Medical Technicians. CME Accreditation: is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Credit Designation: designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 8 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
