Principal Investigator Dissertation Research Developed and implemented a qualitative study in conjunction with my Chair, Dr. Floresch. Analyzed the interview data using grounded theory methodology. Dissertation title: A Grounded Theory Study of the Bereavement Experience for Adults with Developmental Disabilities Following Death of a Parent or Loved One: Perceptions of Bereavement Counselors Invited to take over as principal investigator of a $600,000 + three year Department of Education (DOE) grant, in year two of the grant, Supporting students with disabilities through professional faculty development and student curriculu". Responsible for grant reports, human subjects protection, assisting in training, and developing online training Awarded Eastern Washington University Faculty Research and Creative Works grant to explore the experience of change in the lives of adults with developmental disabilities Awarded a University Faculty Research and Creative Works grant for $10,000 as a co-principal investigator with Dr. Rie Kobayashi to study the impact of Camp Chmepa, a child bereavement camp Awarded a University Faculty Research and Creative Works grant for $5000 to study parental bereavement for adults with IDD interviewing guardians and a bereaved adults with IDD Expanded interview study with IRB approval to include national surveys of both guardians of adults with IDD and self-advocates with IDD about death and grief. Project Director Co writer/project director: US Department of Education: Universal Education Access to Ensure the Success of Students with Disabilities in Higher Education. $1,030,000. Project Director for grant activities. Dr. Romel Mackelprang, Principal Investigator, $1,000, 000 over three year period. Withdrew as Project Director in June 2009.
