2 FAMILY MEDICINE BOARD REVIEW COURSE HOTEL NIKKO SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA Presented by the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine, the Family Medicine Board Review Course provides a review of common problems encountered in Primary Care. The format is designed to help prepare eligible candidates for the American Board of Family Medicine examination. The percentage of time devoted to different specialty areas in the program parallels that of the ABFM exam. Presentations will cover a broad range of important clinical information in a board review format. A syllabus with outlines of all lectures as well as extensive ABFM style questions and answers is given to attendees. July 9-12, 2007 Questions and Answers Workshops will be conducted to review typical board exam questions. The workshops will be offered in Medicine, Pediatrics, and Obstetrics/ Gynecology. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to: Be prepared for the ABFM certification and recertification examination; Improve their recognition and management of common inpatient and outpatient family practice issues such as diseases of the neonate and childhood, dermatologic problems, diabetes, hypertension, peptic ulcer disease and hepatitis, angina, dementia and stroke, musculoskeletal problems and medical and surgical emergencies; Refine their approach to the use of antibiotics and the treatment of sexually transmitted diseases; Develop an understanding of obstetrics and office gynecology. Family Medicine Board Examination San Francisco is one of the sites for the computerized Family Medicine Board Examination.
