13 Department of Neurology Structure of the Inpatient Services Cloud Gate (a.k.a. The Bean) Millennium Park
14 Adult Floor Team Team consists of one attending, one senior resident (PGY4), and four junior residents (PGY2) + 3 rd year medical students one PGY2 is on night float for 6 consecutive nights (Sunday through Friday) other three PGY2s take long call q3 until 8:00pm Saturday nights are covered by an ectopic call person (either PGY2 or PGY3) The PGY4 senior resident takes call from home and will come in if necessary Daily teaching rounds
15 Buddy Call a senior resident (PGY3 or PGY4) takes call inhouse for the first 7 night floats of each PGY2 resident buddy call from 5:00pm till 7:00am buddy assists long call resident from 5:00 to 8:00pm and then the night float resident starting at 8:00pm
16 Adult Floor Team: Moonlighters new since last year: moonlighter helps out during certain times: 1 weekday: when 1 of the 3 PGY2s has day off (often Friday) from 5:00 to 9:00pm Saturday and Sunday from 7:00am to 3pm weekend moonlighting shifts very helpful so that floor team can round without interruptions moonlighter helps with cross cover and consults moonlighter is PGY3, PGY4, or fellow moonlighter is compensated very well
17 Pediatric Neurology the team consists of one attending, one PGY3 (adult or peds neuro), one PGY2 (adult or peds neuro), and general pediatric residents adult PGY2s do not take call adult PGY3s take call from home and will come only if necessary we do not manage general pediatric issues (only neurologic issues); these are handled by general pediatrics residents daily teaching rounds
18 Adult Consult Team the team consists of an attending, a PGY3 resident +/ PGY2 resident, + PGY1 psych resident (10 months) + IM resident (50% of year) + med student service covers in house consults from Monday to Friday 7:00am to 5:00pm and ER consults from 7:00am to 1:00pm overnight and weekend consults are covered by the floor team no overnight responsibilities
19 NeuroCritical Care Unit the team consists of one attending, two fellows and one or two residents (PGY3 +/ PGY2) + med student the rotating resident has no overnight responsibilities during the block neurocritical care fellow in house 24/7 neuro ICU overnight cross covers handled by fellow on call PGY 2 responsible for NICU admissions and acute stroke (with fellow)

21 Number of Night Calls: Front Loaded PGY2 year night float while on the Adult Inpatient service total number about 6 weeks for the year ectopic Saturday Call (8:00pm to 7:00am) while on neuroradiology or North Shore about 4 throughout the year PGY3 year Pediatric neurology home call; about 20 nights for the year only come in for specific emergencies; there is a in house general pediatrics team for admit orders, etc. most call done during the pediatric neurology rotation approximately 3 in house buddy calls (5pm to 7am) 2 3 ectopic Saturday calls per year

25 Outpatient Urgent Care Clinic PGY4 rotation outpatient experience from Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm urgent cases referred by other clinics subspecialty clinics outpatient LPs every patient is seen by the PGY4 and staffed by an attending no inpatient or overnight responsibilities
