2 Full Spectrum of Heart Failure Therapy October 24, 2014 WHO SHOULD ATTEND Physicians, including cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, primary care, intensivists and hospitalists; as well as advanced care practitioners and other healthcare providers who treat patients with heart failure COURSE DESCRIPTION Heart failure has become a growing international public health problem affecting more than 5 million people in the United States alone. We will provide a comprehensive update on epidemiology, pathophysiology, medical economics and optimal treatment strategies for a broad range of heart failure patients. Faculty from both cardiology and cardiac surgery will cover topics pertinent to the practicing cardiologist, primary care physician and advanced care providers. The course format will include didactics, case discussions and a lunchtime debate. The University of Washington Regional Heart Center welcomes you to an engaging, informative and stimulating program. COURSE OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this activity, attendees should be able to: Describe the varying types and severity of heart failure Discuss medical and surgical management of heart failure Discuss the results of recent clinical trials Describe the horizon for new technology and innovations for heart failure treatment ACCREDITATION Accreditation with Commendation The University of Washington School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Credit Designation The University of Washington School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 8.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Materials will be available from October 20 - November 21, 2014, for registrants to print and/or download. A booklet with the conference agenda and pages for note-taking will be provided at the conference. ATTENDANCE POLICY Course activities are exclusively reserved for course attendees. Badges provided at registration are required for entrance into all functions and this requirement will be strictly enforced. CANCELLATION POLICY The Office of Continuing Medical Education must receive written notification of your cancellation by October 14, A $50.00 processing fee will be deducted from refund requests received by this date.
