1 Workforce Data The American Board of Pediatrics
2 Caution. Before using this report as a resource, please read the information below! Please use caution when comparing data in this version of the Workforce Data Book with recent versions, particularly the Pediatric Physician s Workforce Data Book, and any reports beyond this date. Starting with the version and all years following, tracking data for residency and subspecialty fellowship programs only include ACGME-accredited programs. Information from Canadian residency programs pertaining to residency and subspecialty tracking data are not included in the tables. In Workforce Data Books published between , Canadian residency programs were included in the tracking data for residency and subspecialty fellowship programs. This led to confusion, as the requirements for Canadian programs accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) differ from those for U.S. and Puerto Rican programs accredited through the ACGME. When data from prior years are reported in the version and in subsequent versions, counts for prior years have been recalculated under this framework to allow for comparison between years. To read more about the methodology employed in the ABP s workforce reports, please visit the ABP's Pediatric Physicians Workforce Methodology Report.
