1 Sample examination material 22 Health and Human Development Written examination November Introduction The following advice is part of the implementation of the Health and Human Development examination in Sample questions have been supplied where there has been a significant change in the content or format of the study design and/or the examination. Teachers and students, in their preparation for the examination, should use the sample questions as a guide. No answers have been supplied with the sample questions. The following documents should be referred to in relation to the 2004 Heath and Human Development examination. VCE and VCAL Administrative Handbook 2004 VCE Heath and Human Development Study Design VCE Assessment Handbook, Health and Human Development 2004 VCE Bulletin Supplement 3 March The major intention of the new revised study design is to broaden and strengthen the study to ensure that it is more inclusive of males with particular reference to male health is more inclusive of the relationship between the community and the individual s health and development rather than solely within the family context provides more emphasis on the health of adolescents and adults rather than infancy increases reference to indigenous health and development and socio-economic status increases emphasis on health within the health/development relationship increases emphasis on the interrelationship between health and development is a study that moves from an individual, to community, to national and then global perspective on health. End-of-year examination Description All outcomes in Units 3 and 4 will be examined. All of the key knowledge and skills that underpin the outcomes in Units 3 and 4 are examinable. All outcomes from Units 3 and 4 will contribute approximately equally to the examination. All questions are compulsory. The main change to the Health and Human Development examination paper is that as of 2004 it is a question and answer book. The number of lines and the total marks for each question is an indication of how long students should take to complete each task. The sample provided should be used as a guide. Teachers and students should familiarise themselves with this new format. Teachers and students should check the relevant VCE study design and Assessment Handbook for this study.
