1 New Horizons in Nephrology: Principles of Critical Care for the Nephrologist A CME-Certified Course New Horizons in Nephrology: Principles of Critical Care for the Nephrologist is hosted by the Renal Electrolyte and Hypertension Division of the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. DATE: Friday, May 20, 2016 TIME: 7:30 AM 4:30 PM LOCATION: Gift of life 401 North 3 rd Street COURSE OVERVIEW: Over the past several decades, Nephrology has evolved such that critical care nephrology has become a key component in the ICU setting. Nephrologists work directly with intensivists in the ICU and often there are important areas of overlap between therapies controlled by the nephrologist and therapies controlled by the primary team. Given these

2 overlaps, it has become increasingly important that the consulting nephrologist understand the clinical and technologic advances in critical care medicine. This program is designed to focus on the principles of intensive care with an emphasis on co-management between disciplines and the complexity of increasing demands for nephrologists to broaden their knowledge of clinical and technologic advances in critical care medicine. A combination of case presentations and lectures will be used to provide an academically sound and clinically relevant review. We invite you to attend and believe the program will provide an enriching experience for all participants. TARGET AUDIENCE: This conference is designed for nephrologists, nurses and fellows in Nephrology and Nephrology critical care.
