1 *Dr.Fathi Mahmoud Afifi was born in Egypt. *In 1976 he started the career as a resident of Neurology and psychiatry for 2 years in Al- Azhar University Hospitals, Trained on clinical neurology, psychiatry and neurophysiology, Prepared the Msc thesis "The use of cannabis as an antiepileptics. *In 1979 he got the master degree promoted for a job of assistant lecturer on neuropsychiatry in Al-Azhar University. *In 1984, he passed the exam for the degree of Doctorat of neurology. Few months latter he was promoted to a job of lecture of neurology in Al-Azhar University. * In 1989 he was promoted to a job of associate professor of Neurology in Al-Azhar University. *In 1994 he was promoted to a job of professor of neurology in Al-Azhar University.Elected as the editor in chief of Journal of Egyptian stroke, board of the Egyptian journal of neurology, psychiatry and neurosurgery and board of Al-Azhar medical journal. *In 1999 he was warded the annual National Research Academy Award for Neurology (Osama Elwan). *In 2003 he promoted to a job of chairman of neurology departments of Al-Azhar University and secretary of permanent scientific commite to promote professor and assistant professor in neurology. *In 2004 he established the neurocritical care unit and Interventional unite in Al-Azhar university Hospitals.
