1 Study «CLIMSOM & Sleep Quality» 211 Actigraphic Measures

2 1. Contextof the Study 1 out of 5 suffer from insomnia. The environment is one of the most influential factors on sleep (noise, temperature and light) At the minimum internal temperature (nadir) corresponds the maximum of sleep (slow-wave sleep and REM sleep) During heat waves, sleep disorders are at the forefront of the complaint (the elderly, children and chronically ill) What can be the role of temperature s regulation on the quality of sleep?

3 2. Study Protocol 15 participants Age : Study duration: 1 days and 1 nights in a row at home 5 days with : Adjustable temperature 5 days without : temperature of the room: C In cross over Subjective analysis by daily questionnaires Objective analysis by actigraphy coupled with a sleep diary

Conclusion This first study shows the significant effect of CLIMSOM on sleep and subjective vigilance of a small group of subjects short sleepers The would objectivelybring to actigraphy2 minutes more of sleep or 5% of total sleep time These results are very encouraging and would need to be tested on a larger group of poor sleepers
