Hippocrates 480 B.C. Similar Cures Similar It is difficult to cure chronic diseases one has to turn them into acute again
HOMEOPATHY AS A SCIENTIFIC MEDICAL THERAPEUTIC SYSTEM Samuel Hahnemman Observation that physical substances can create to healthy individuals, symptoms which are similar to those that they can cure to ill individuals. Observation that the therapeutic result of physical substances are highly increased with dilution and shaking Experiment to many physical substances for the whole range of human Pathology.
HOMEOPATHIC LAW OF CURE Similar Cures Similar Physical substance POTENTIZATION (ATTENUATIONS +SUCCUSSIONS) consecutively Homeopathic Remedy Produces to healthy individuals Technical disease Symptoms, Symptoms, signs signs, Laboratory changes S i m i l a r i t y Cures ill individuals Physical disease

Direction of cure Hering s Law Symbolic model of the organism and Homeopathic treatment Direction of suppression C.N.S. Immune Cardiovascular Endocrine Respiratory Urine-Genital Alimentary Muscularsceletic Mental Emotional Direction of cure Skin
General Adaptation Syndrome Hans Seyle ( ) Endocrinologist Hans Selye described a profile of how organisms respond to stress; the general adaptation syndrome is characterized by three phases: 1. a nonspecific mobilization alarm phase, which promotes sympathetic nervous system activity; 2. a resistance phase, during which the organism makes efforts to cope with the threat; and 3. an exhaustion phase, which occurs if the organism fails to overcome the threat and depletes its physiological resources. Every phase has a different neuro-endocrino-immuno profile
It seems that symptoms are not expressing the disease, itself but the fight of the organism against the disease. They are expressing the new Neuro- Endocrino-Immuno status of the organism under the stress factor, they are expressing the new biochemical personality, that has been aroused by the organism, in order to fight or flight to go on with the first two phases of General Adaptation Syndrom (Hans Seyle) alarm, resistance, HOMEOPATHY and avoid the third phase (exhaustion). However We have strongest symptoms, at the time that the organism is fighting strongly, trying to achieve resistance.
In Classical Homeopathy (Hahnemannian) the choice of the appropriate remedy for each patient, is individualized according to the totality of the symptoms on physical, mental and even emotional level (total psycho-neuroendocrino-immuno new profile of the organism fighting the disease as stress factor). Very important for the successful prescription are the strange and peculiar symptoms (strong individualization) (e.g sleeplessness from joy plus restless legs). The same symptoms have been aroused from healthy volunteers during Homeopathic Pathogenetic Trials (provings), when healthy organisms took the plant or mineral on a sub-toxic dose, before this has been a homeopathic remedy with dilution and vibration.
In Homeopathy also, the general sympotms of each patient (tastes desires and aversions, thirst, warmth or coldness, perspiration etc) are taking under serious consideration for the choice of the exact appropriate remedy. Those symptoms reflect the new metabolic profile that the organism has aroused in order to enforce its fight against the disease
The new Metabolic, Neuro-Endocrino-Immuno profile of the patient during its fight against the disease must have the same profile with this, that has been aroused during the proving trial to healthy individuals after the administration of the natural source of the homeopathic remedy.

Conclusions Homeopathic medicines Coffea cruda and Nux vomica in 30c potencies alter short-term nonlinear dynamic parameters of slow wave sleep EEG in healthy young adults. MSE may provide a more sensitive NDS analytic method for evaluating homeopathic remedy effects on human sleep EEG patterns.

Some common homeopathic remedies for sleep disorders (according to the totality of the symptoms) Nux vomica The patient goes to sleep late because of a feeling of thoughts crowding in on him. He or she wakes at 3 am and lies awake until daybreak, when he falls into a dull sleep full of dreams, from which it is hard to rouse. He wakes late, feeling tired. He or she feels drowsy after meals and in the early evening. His dreams are full of bustle and hurry. He feels better after a short sleep, unless aroused. He has a great flow of ideas in bed in the evening, which often drive away sleep until morning. Experiences sleeplessness and excitement after overwork or over-stimulation. Very tidy and workaholic person. Dreams of quarrels.
Some common homeopathic remedies for sleep disorders (according to the totality of the symptoms) Coffea Cruda The patient experiences complete sleeplessness and is constantly moving and excited. Sleeps until 3 am, after which he or she is only able to doze. Wakes with a start and feels excited. His sleep is disturbed by dreams. Experiences sleeplessness because of mental activity; has a flow of ideas, accompanied by nervous excitability. This remedy is good for hyperactive or hypersensitive children.
Some common homeopathic remedies for sleep disorders (according to the totality of the symptoms) Belladonna There is pulsation of the blood-vessels, and the patient may hear this so loudly when trying to sleep as to be kept awake by it. He or she experiences comatose sleep at night, with frequent waking and convulsive movements. The patient s sleep may be accompanied by moaning and tossing about. There may be nocturnal sleeplessness, sometimes with the desire to sleep and useless efforts to go to sleep, mostly because of feelings of great anguish or agitation. Dreams may be described as anxious, terrible, frightful and vivid. They may be about fires, robbers and assassins, or may be meditative dreams. On closing the eyes in order to go to sleep, the patient sees frightful visions and experiences jerking in the limbs. This remedy is often used during childhood fevers.

Some common homeopathic remedies for sleep disorders (according to the totality of the symptoms) Aconite The patient has nightmares and anxious dreams. He or she experiences sleeplessness, and is restless and tosses about (use 30th potency). The patient starts up in sleep, has long dreams, with feelings of anxiety centred on the chest. Insomnia of the aged. The patient experiences drowsiness, with anxious thoughts and rapid respiration. This is especially associated with fear of dying. The patient is sleepless because of anxiety, constantly agitated and tosses about
Some common homeopathic remedies for sleep disorders (according to the totality of the symptoms) Stramonium These patients experience night terrors. They suffer from agitated sleep with vivid dreams. They can be very frightened. A child clings to the parents. They have frightful visions during sleep. They lie on the back with open, staring eyes. They have a tremendous fear of the dark or fear of violence.
