A SIMPLE SOLUTION FOR CARDIAC MONITORING SEEQ Mobile Cardiac Telemetry System Actual size.
NOW THERE S AN EXTERNAL HEART MONITOR THAT S AS SIMPLE TO WEAR AS A BANDAGE It s called the SEEQ Mobile Cardiac Telemetry System or SEEQ MCT for short. It s designed to help your doctor diagnose your heart arrhythmia without disrupting your daily life.
IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOUR HEART? If you re experiencing unexplained fainting, heart palpitations or symptoms that suggest atrial fibrillation, it may be related to an irregular heartbeat. While treatments are available, the irregular heartbeat needs to be detected and diagnosed to ensure it s properly managed and treated. This can be challenging when arrhythmias may occur only every now and then. Fortunately, the SEEQ MCT external heart monitor can record all irregular heartbeats to give your doctor the needed data and give you peace of mind. COMMON CONDITIONS REQUIRING MONITORING Unexplained fainting Fainting is a sudden loss of consciousness that occurs when your blood pressure drops and not enough oxygen reaches the brain. Most often, a fainting spell is brief and consciousness is regained in a few minutes, although there may be a period of confusion. Some causes of unexplained fainting are harmless, but others may be serious and their cause needs to be determined. Heart palpitations Heart palpitations are sensations that feel like your heart is pounding, racing, fluttering or skipping a beat. While concerning, palpitations are relatively common and usually harmless. However, in some cases they may indicate a more serious heart condition that requires treatment. Atrial fibrillation Atrial fibrillation (AF or AFib) occurs when the upper chambers of the heart beat very fast and unpredictably, producing an abnormal heartbeat. Because blood is not being pumped effectively to the rest of the body, it may pool and clot. If a clot dislodges, it can travel to the brain and cause a stroke.
WEARABLE SENSOR YOU TRANSMITT THE SIMPLEST SOLUTION Unlike most external heart monitoring systems, SEEQ MCT features a discreet, patient-friendly design. You can easily apply the peel-and-stick wearable sensor yourself. It s like an adhesive bandage you wear on your chest. Once applied, the wearable sensor monitors your heart, records any irregular heart rhythms and communicates through a cellular network to the Medtronic Monitoring Center via the Transmitter you carry with you.
ER MEDTRONIC MONITORING CENTER DOCTOR NO WIRES, NO WORRIES With its comfortable design and the absence of cumbersome leads and wires, the SEEQ MCT Wearable Sensor can be worn discreetly beneath your clothing. Whether at work, at play, sleeping, or even in the shower, the water-resistant sensor can be worn day and night to monitor your heart around the clock without disrupting your daily routine. Each wearable sensor provides 7.5 days of continuous monitoring. So if your physician prescribes the SEEQ MCT for 30 days, you ll simply remove the old wearable sensor and apply a new one as needed.
WEAR IT WITH CONFIDENCE The SEEQ MCT System continuously and automatically sends your data to the Monitoring Center via cellular signals. The Monitoring Center is staffed 24/7 to review any abnormal heart rhythms in a timely manner whether you feel it or not. If you do feel symptoms like dizziness or shortness of breath, you can press a button on your SEEQ MCT wearable sensor to mark the symptom for your doctor. Remember, even if you don t mark the symptom, the system will have automatically recorded the arrhythmia. Cellular networks send your data to the Monitoring Center around the clock, where cardiographic technicians watch for unusual activity to report to your doctor. In some cases, your doctor may reach out to you to discuss these reports while you re still wearing the SEEQ MCT System. Other times, your doctor may wish to wait until the end of the prescription to discuss results. FROM THE LEADER IN CARDIAC TECHNOLOGY Medtronic is the world s largest medical technology company, offering an unprecedented breadth and depth of innovative therapies. Every year, millions of cardiac patients are diagnosed and treated with the help of our products. You can be assured that our expertise in cardiac rhythm monitoring will help you and your doctor find the best possible solution for your condition.
COMMON QUESTIONS Do I need to carry my Transmitter with me? Yes, always carry your Transmitter with you to help ensure the Monitoring Center and your physician can get your important heart information as quickly as possible. You should remain within 30 feet (9 meters) of the Transmitter for successful data transmission. Can I travel in the United States wearing the SEEQ MCT wearable sensor? Yes, but be sure to take the Transmitter with you at all times. The Transmitter will remain charged for up to 12 hours. If you plan to be away for longer than 12 hours, take the charger with you as well. If you are traveling by air, the monitor and transmitter may trigger airport detectors, but they will not be damaged. Carry the SEEQ MCT patient travel card provided with your system when traveling or entering high security areas. Simply notify airport personnel that you are wearing a medical device and show them your patient card. If you are traveling outside of the United States you need to let your physician know, as the SEEQ MCT System may not be able to transmit your data. What should I do when I feel symptoms? Whenever symptoms occur, trigger the monitor to transmit a record of your heart activity by pushing the Patient Trigger button located on the sensor until you hear a beep. An ECG will be sent by the transmitter to the Monitoring Center for review and delivery to your physician. Do I need wireless Internet access or a cellular data plan? No, the SEEQ MCT Wearable Sensor monitor and Transmitter communicate with built-in cellular technology. Then the Transmitter sends your data to the Monitoring Center via global satellite cellular signals. There is no cost to you for data transmission. What if the SEEQ MCT monitor causes my skin to itch? In the rare event that you experience skin irritation while wearing the SEEQ MCT monitor, speak with your physician. Will I need to change the battery in the monitor or the Transmitter? Battery replacement is not required for either device. However, we recommend that you charge the Transmitter every night. 8 Indications The Medtronic SEEQ Mobile Cardiac Telemetry (MCT) System is intended to continuously measure, record and periodically transmit physiological data. The System is indicated for those patients who require monitoring for the detection of non-lethal cardiac arrhythmias, such as, but not limited to, supraventricular tachycardias (e.g., atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, paroxysmal SVTs), ventricular ectopy, bradyarrhythmias and conduction disorders. The SEEQ MCT System monitors, derives and displays: ECG, Heart Rate. Contraindications Patients with known allergies or hypersensitivities to adhesives or hydrogel Patients with potentially life-threatening arrhythmias, or who require inpatient/hospital monitoring Warnings and Precautions Do not reapply the Wearable Sensor (it is meant for one-time use) For a complete list of precautions, please refer to the Instructions for Use document See the device manual for detailed information regarding the indications, contraindications, warnings, precautions, and potential complications/adverse events.
