EHS Policy General Awareness A foundational element of the Eaton Business System is our Values, which includes the recognition of our people as our most valued resource. We transform our Values into action through our Philosophy, which defines our responsibilities to one another, the enterprise, our customers and other stakeholders. Our Philosophy includes our commitment to the well-being of all employees. Working safely is a condition of employment at Eaton. Eaton will not permit retaliation against an employee who in good faith reports a safety violation. Employees found to have violated any of the above core Safety Expectations or other safety requirements may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination. Violation of the Zero Tolerance Life Saving Rules will result in termination. 7 7

EHS Principles General Awareness All Eaton employees share personal responsibility to create and maintain a safe work environment. By working together and recognizing that we all have a significant role in the safety of ourselves and our coworkers, we can make a difference. Eaton s Safety Policy is part of doing business right and the following Principles assist us in our progress toward eliminating injuries and illnesses in our workplace. 8 8

MESH Overview MESH MESH is Eaton's Management System for Environment, Health, Safety, and Security (EHS). Consistent with Eaton's Ethics Policy and Eaton Business Excellence (EBE) approach, MESH was created to achieve the following objectives: Ensure compliance with EHS legal requirements and Eaton's Global EHS Requirements Ensure that facility EHS processes are managed using ISO Drive ownership of EHS management through cross-functional leadership and engagement of all employees and improve EHS performance In order to achieve these objectives, MESH is implemented at Eaton locations by crossfunctional EHS leadership teams. MESH is not intended to be used and implemented solely by EHS professionals. While Eaton has a number of talented EHS professionals at its sites and within its business sector/groups, cross-functional involvement and support from all Eaton employees is critical in order for the MESH process to be successful and achieve the intended results. MESH is comprised of 10 categories & 32 elements All team members are encouraged to get involved in the MESH process

The Goal of MESH 1. Identify Risk 2. Implement Controls 3. Achieve ZERO 14 14

ZERO Incident Belief 1 Incident Free Performance is ACHIEVABLE We set a goal of operating with zero incidents because we believe that everything we do can be done safely and without adverse environmental impact. We believe this goal is achievable. To achieve zero incidents we must maintain management systems that allow us to control risk. Managing risk is accomplished through engineering controls (like safety guards on a machine) administrative controls (like lockout procedures), and personal protective equipment (like hearing protection). Believing that incident-free performance is achievable will not eliminate environmental, health, safety and security risks in our work environment. Believing in a workplace with zero incidents does allow us to approach incident prevention with a sense of purpose and direction. It is unacceptable to not report an incident in order to meet our zero incident goals. All incidents no matter how minor must be reported so that appropriate steps can be taken to prevent similar incidents

ZERO Incident Belief 2 MESH is a CORE VALUE Eaton believes that environmental, health, safety and security is a core value that must be integrated into every aspect of our business. While our priorities can change on a daily basis, our values should remain unaffected by competing daily priorities. Operating with zero incidents should not compete with business priorities. Rather, it must be an integrated part of everything we do

ZERO Incident Belief 3 Management Leadership is Essential Eaton believes that management leadership is essential in achieving a workplace with zero incidents. Our managers and front-line leaders must be visibly engaged in the processes and demonstrate the behaviors that support a zero incident culture. In other words, leaders must walk the talk. Management must be accountable and responsible for continuous EHS improvement. The site s EHS resource should be viewed as a coach rather than the person responsible for EHS. Modeling of the desired EHS behaviors and daily execution of the activities that result in zero incidents must be the responsibility of our managers and front-line leaders 17 17

ZERO Incident Belief 4 The Entire Organization Must Be ENGAGED To achieve the type of performance that we want and our management expects we will have to change the EHS culture of Eaton. The fundamental element of this change has to be a shift in the ownership for EHS. We need 100,000+ Eaton employees including managers, front - line leaders, service technicians, sales persons and shop floor employees - to own the process. Incident - free performance is not possible without everyone s participation and commitment. Participation does not have to be complex or time - consuming. For example, taking a few moments to report a near miss incident is a meaningful and relevant way for employees to get involved. Other examples of participation include : - Participate on a committee - Complete an EHS inspection - Correct a hazard - Participate in a risk assessment - Conduct a safety observation - Participate in a MESH assessment - Lead a Team Safety Briefing 18 18
