5 What s inside of our liquids? PG or Propylene Glycol From the family of glycol, PG is non-toxic and without odor or smell. It vaporizes at around 50 c, and creates a throat hit similar to that of cigarettes, that many vapers prefer. PG is used in the cosmetic and food industry, and in inhalers and nebulizers since the 1950 s. VG or Vegetable Glycerin A natural chemical, VG is derived from vegetable oil, making it vegetarian friendly also. It also vaporizes at a low temperature, and has light, sweet taste to it. As VG is considerably thicker than PG, the sensation from the hit gives the same effect. This thickness also reduces the lifespan of the atomized when compared to PG. It is widely used in beauty and food products. Terpenes Terpenes are hydrocarbons that are found in natural essential oils of plants that give them their smell and/or taste. There are hundreds of them and they typically work together to create aromatic and flavour diversity.
