2 Noise Regulations... 3 Litter Town of Sorrento Noise Regulations... 5 Litter Other Regulations... 5 In the Parish of Ascension, it is illegal to allow customers to remain in a licensed establishment between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. every day. Businesses where the main thing sold is not alcohol may remain open so long as alcohol is not sold or consumed during prohibited hours. In the Parish of Ascension, there are no laws prohibiting the sale of alcohol on Sundays. Noise Regulations The Parish of Ascension does have laws governing noise created by businesses. 3 In the Parish of Ascension, there are no laws prohibiting the possession of an open container of alcohol, or the public consumption of alcoholic beverages. The Parish of Ascension requires anyone who works as a bartender, barmaid, waitress, performer or entertainer in any business where alcoholic beverages of more than 6% alcohol by volume is the main thing sold to obtain a certificate of qualification from the Sheriff s office. The applicant for a certificate of qualification must be at least 21 years old if they are a bartender or waitress and at least 18 if they are a performer or entertainer. The certificate costs $25 and is good for two years. It is the business owner s responsibility to make sure all employees have the proper certificates. Exotic dancers who perform in any licensed establishment must likewise receive the same certificate of qualification from the Sheriff. The Parish of Ascension does not require any form of local server training. Other Regulations In the Parish of Ascension, the ban on businesses holding an alcohol license within 500 feet of a playground, church, synagogue, library or school does not apply. Gas stations that get less than half of their business from alcohol sales so long as alcohol is not sold by the station between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. City of Gonzales In the City of Gonzales, it is illegal to sell or serve alcohol between the hours of 2 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. every day. Businesses that allow the consumption of any type of beverage on- premise, must be closed during prohibited times. Package houses are not required to close but cannot sell alcohol during prohibited times. In the City of Gonzales, there are no laws prohibiting sale of alcohol on Sunday. 4 Litter Responsible Alcohol Service for In the City of Gonzales, it is illegal to consume alcohol on any public property, thoroughfare, right- of- way, easement, or at any business establishment or other location of any type that is open to the public between the hours of 2 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. every day. The City of Gonzales people who work as a bartender where alcohol is sold for on- premise consumption must get a permit from the Chief of Police. The cost of the permit is $10 and expires on December 31, every year. Renewal applications must be submitted by November 1, every year. The application must be a sworn statement, made before a notary public, with the name and address of the applicant as well as a statement saying the applicant is qualified under the provisions of the law of the City of Gonzales to hold a bartender s permit. It is the responsibility of the owner or person in charge of a business to make sure all their bartenders are properly permitted. The City of Gonzales does not require any form of local server training. Town of Sorrento In the Town of Sorrento, it is illegal to sell or serve any beverages, whether containing alcohol or not, for on- premise consumption, or to remain open for business, between the hours of between the hours of 2 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. every day. In the Town of Sorrento, there are no laws prohibiting sale of alcohol on Sunday. Page 4 of 5 v. 0413

The Town of Sorrento does not require any form of alcohol server permit, Bar Card or ABO Card. The Town of Sorrento does not require any form of local server training.
