3 -79 TEXAS ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE C0i1HISSION LOCAL OPTION ELECTIONS There were twenty-eight local option elections during the fiscal year ending August 31, Four elections were called to legalize the sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only; three remained "dry" and one became "wet." Twelve elections were called to legalize the sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premi se consumption only; eleven rema i ned "dry" and one became "wet." Seven elections were called to legalize the sale of all alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages; three remained "dry" and four became "wet," One election was called to legalize the sale of mixed beverages; one became "wet." Two elections 'yo/ere called to legalize the sale of beer and wine; two remained "dry." One election was called to prohibit the sale of all alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages; one remained "wet." One election was called to prohibit the sale of all alcoholic beverages; one remained "wet." The voting for the fiscal year: BELL COUNTY The City of Belton, Bell County, on June 30,1987, voted 1,237 for "the legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only" and against "the legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only." The City of Belton, Bell County, was "dry" before the election was held and became "wet" for the legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only. BRAZORIA COUNTY The Vi 11 age of Bonney. Brazori a County. on Octo ber 4, voted 8 for "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages. including mixed beverages" and 27 against "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages, including m~xed beverages. " The Vi 11 age of Bonney. Brazori a County, was "wet" for the 1ega1 sale of beer only, and as a result of the election remained "wet" for the legal sale of beer only. CALDWELL COUNTY Precinct No.3, Caldwell County, on December 13, 1986, voted 216 for "the 1ega 1 sa 1e of beer and wine" and 369 aga inst It the 1ega 1 sa1e of beer and wine." Precinct No.3, Caldwell County, was "dry" before the election \'Jas held and remained "dry." COlB-tAN COUNTY City of Novice, Coleman County, on January , voted 41 for "the legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise- consumption only" and 53 against- "the 1ega 1 sale of beer and wi ne for off- premi se can sumpt i on on 1y. 4 -80 COLEMAN COUNTY Cfty of Santa Anna, Coleman County, on December 6, 1986, voted 167 for "the egal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only" and 178 only. II COLLIN COUNTY The City of St. Paul, Collin County, on June , voted 37 for lithe legal sale of all alcoholic beverages. including mixed beverages ll and 158 against Mthe legal sale of all alcoholic beverages. including mixed beverages." The City of St. Paul, Call in County, was "dry" before the election ~"as held and remai ned "dry. II DALLAS COUNTY The Incorporated City of Cockrell Hill, Dallas County, on October voted 132 for "the legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only" and 377 against "the legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise con sumption only." The Incorporated City of Cockrell Hill. Dallas County, was "dry" before the election was held and remained "dry." DALLAS COUNTY The Incorporated City of Farmers Branch. Dallas County, on October , voted 2,095 for "the legal sale of mixed beverages" and 741, against "the legal sale of mixed beverages." The Incorporated City of Farmers Branch, Dallas County, was "dry" before the election was held and became "wet II for the 1ega 1 sale of mixed beverages. DENTON COUNTY The Incorporated City of Crossroads, Denton County, on December 20, 1986, voted 66 for "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only" and 33 against lithe legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premi se consumption only." The Incorporated City of Crossroads, Denton County. was "dry" before the election was held and became "wet" for the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only. DENTON COUNTY The City of Marshall Creek, Denton County, on August 8, 1987, voted 51 for "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only" and 69 against "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise 'consumption only." The City of ~larshall Creek, Denton County, was "dry" before the election was held and remained "dry."

The City of Pilot Point. Denton County, was "dry" before the election was held and remained "dry." DIMMITT COUNTY Precinct No. I, Oinmitt County, on June 6, voted 136 for lithe legal sale of all alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages ll and 84 against "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages." Precinct No. I. Dimmitt County, was "dry" before the election \;las held and became "wet" for the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages. DONLEY COUNTY City of Howardwick, Donley County, on August 4, 1987, voted 49 for lito prohibit the sale of all al cohol ic beverages, including mixed beverages" and 67 against lito prohibit the sale of all alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages. II The City of Howardwick, Donley County, was "wet" before the election 'vias held and remained "wet" for the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages. HAYS COUNTY Precinct No.4, Hays County, on December , voted 554 for "the 1ega 1 sale of beer and wine" and 642 against "the legal sale of beer and wine." Precinct No.4, Hays County, was "dry" before the election was held and rema i ned "dry." HENDERSON COUNTY City of Poynor, Henderson County, on Apri.l 4, 1987, voted 42 for "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only" and 103 on 1y. " The City of Poynor. Henderson County, wa s "dry" before the electi on was held and remained "dry." HOCKLEY COUNTY The City of Opdyke West, Hockley County, on April , voted 28 for "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages" and 5 against lithe legal sale of all alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages. II The City of Opdyke Hest wa's "wet" for the 1ega1 sa1e of beer for off-premise consumption only. and as a result of this election became "wet" to include the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages.

6 -82 IRION COUNTY The County of Irion on July 7, 1987, voted 238 for "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only" and 321 against "the legal sale of all al cohol ic beverages for off-premi se consumption only." The County of Irion was partially "wet" for the legal sale of beer only, and as a resuh of this election remained "wet" for the legal sale of beer only. LAMB COUNTY City of Littlefield, Lamb County, on January , voted 694 for "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only" and 872 only." The City of littlefield, Lamb County, was "dry" before the election was hel d and remai ned "dry." Precinct No.1, Lamb County. on September , voted 457 for "the legal sale of all alcohol ic beverages for off-premise consumption onll l and 529 only." Precinct No. 1, lamb County. was "dry" before the election was held and remained "dry." LEON COUNTY Ci ty of Buffa 10, Leon County, on Apri 1 18, 1987, vote d 193 for \I the 1ega 1 sa 1e of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only" and 271 against lithe legal sale of all alcohol ic beverages for off-premi se consumption only." The City of Buffalo, Leon County, was "dryll before the election was held and remained IIdry." ' HOTLEY COUNTY Precinct No.3, Motley County, on November , voted 125 for "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only" and 140 only." Precinct No. 3, r~otley County, was "dryll before the election was held and remained "dry." POLK COUNTY The Incorporated City of Onalaska, Polk County. on September 20, 1986, voted 74 for" the 1ega 1 sa1e of beer and wi ne for off-premi se consumption on 1y" and 65 against lithe legal sale of beer and wine for off-premi se consumption only. II Prior to this election, the Incorporated City of Onalaska had been "wet" on the above issue, but later an additiona1 area annexed into the city limits. This election was called to try to get "this annexed area "wet" also. The Incorporated City of Onalaska remained "wet ll except for the annexed area, which remained "dry."

Precinct No. 3~ Potter County, was "dryu before the election was held and rema i ned "dry. " TAYLOR COUNTY The City of Buffalo Gap, Taylor County, on April , voted 70 for "to prohibit the sale of all alcoholic beverages" and 210 against "to prohibit the sale of all alcoholic beverages." The City of Buffalo Gap. Taylor County, was "wet" before the election was held and remained "wet" for the sale of all alcoholic beverages. UPSHUR COUNTY The City of Union Grove, Upshur County, on August 8, 1987, voted 43 for "the 1ega 1 sale of a11 a1coho1i c beve rages for off-premi se consumption on ly" and 82 only." The City of Union Grove. Upshur County, was "dryll before the election was held and remained IIdry." WILL1AMSON COUNTY Precinct No.1. Williamson County. on June 10,1987, voted 365 for lithe legal sale of all alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages" and 254 against "the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages. 1I Precinct No.1, Williamson County, was "dry" before the election was held and became II we t ll for the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages.
