Iron deficiency anemia diagnosed as IDA progressed post-cancer treatment Prescribed oral iron three times a day; eatiron-rich rich foods. Had a very hard time tolerating the oral iron and often stopped taking. Anemia unresolved. Visit to a hematologist who put together an IV iron treatment plan tailored to correct her iron deficiency. I refused to continue to feel like the walking dead so I took matters into my own hands. Now that my iron deficiency has been corrected, I am a different person. I am more active with my children and am not dreading the next decade of my life I m embracing it. 17
