3 Page: 3 Engineering Controls Respiratory Protection Eye Protection Hand Protection Body Protection Hygiene Measures Application in the Workplace: TWA - the Time-Weighted Average airborne concentration over an eight-hour working day, for a five-day week over an entire working life. According to current knowledge this concentration should neither impair the health, nor cause undue discomfort to, nearly all workers. STEL is the Short Term Exposure Limit and is a 15-minute TWA exposure, which should not be exceeded at any time during a working day. Exposures at the STEL should not be longer than 15 minutes and should not be repeated more than four times per day. There should be at least 0 minutes between successive exposures at the STEL.
